Ebola presents a threat, though if the situation is handled correctly, should not be a huge public risk. I (and many others) do not trust gubmint's ability to take those common-sense actions to minimize the risks involved.

Here's a radical idea, let's continue to support the WHO efforts to eradicate the disease at source. That's the best way to ensure that there will not be a deadly outbreak outside of these most unfortunate Western African Nations, not whether or not the US president continues to allow travel in and out. None of this partisan stuff helps or achieves anything at all, people continue to die, lost of women and children amongst the number, disproportionately I might add.

Obamas leave Bo the dog behind for holiday

HONOLULU -- President Obama and his family arrived in Hawaii on Thursday afternoon to begin a 10-day vacation, but one member of the family -- Bo, the puppy -- did not make the trip.

White House officials confirmed that the Obamas' Portuguese water dog stayed behind when Marine One departed the White House on Christmas Eve. Hawaii has strict quarantine policies, requiring 120 days of pet isolation to contain rabies. And a 10-hour flight could test the discipline of any young dog. So Bo will be boarded until the family returns in early January.

Officials did not immediately disclose the puppy's whereabouts, nor confirm whether Santa Claus would be able to find him to fill his stocking on Thursday night.
