I was not sure, so we did not do the DS160 until my fincee received the packet from the consulate. I do not think it really would matter if I did it earlier though.

I see, i guess i will wait a few days... :)

It depends on the consulate as well. In China my fiance must mail the DS160 confirmation page and a few other things to the consulate before the interview.

What do most people send with the avadavit of support? I have paycheck stubs, bank statements, is that enough?

My fiance send letters from his employers, pay stubs and last year's tax return... i hope that will be enough

Today my case at NVC was changed with an "Updated Date" of today, from 12/2. The status is still Ready for Interview as it was on 12/2. Does anyone have that type of update occurring and know what it was? The case was sent to the embassy on 12/1. I called to find out what was updated today and they didn't know. the NVC rep also said they would get no further updates on the case as it was with the Embassy now. Is that correct?

Congratulations on your interview date! We are looking forward to ours soon as well, my fiance is working on getting his certificates from work and then we will schedule. This is so exciting! We're in the home stretch! I'm so excited that now I'm really starting to seriously think about the wedding. lol

I was curious, how are you other brides planning for the wedding since, we haven't had a specific date to work with until the visa is granted? I have my dress, but as far as vendors I think I will call so they can have 2.5 months notice. Is anybody going for a civil wedding and reception later? I also considered the "destination package", but couldn't find one for where we want to marry... Then I thought about a civil ceremony, but have my heart set on a church wedding with family and friends.

Okay, I'll stop rambling. lol I was trying to tell my fiance the other night that I was picking wedding colors, but he's focused on his certificates and wrapping up things at home so we can be together ASAP. I don't think most men can mult-task like ladies do. :)

Our case was processed in three months total, from the date I mailed to the approval interview date. Soooo, I had planned my church ceremony in May, hoping he would be here by then. So, we have decided to just legally get married to satisfy the 90 day rule and will still hold the true ceremony and reception in May.

Have got the dress, shoes, and all accessories and we're going to start getting altered around March.. where I estimate NOA2 may start happening. Last year I went searching for venues that were on our price point and sent out some emails. We settled on a restaurant that has ceremony space right on the water overlooking a beach. I inquired to the coordinator there if there was a way I could make the reception smaller and more affordable. She suggested how about tossing the reception entirely, and rent the big back dinning room -- where we could all just sit down and eat and they'd put the cake in there too. After all, my family is quite elderly, there's not enough people in our party to throw a huge bash, and none of us really dance. Our cake vendor will work with the restaurant. All they are waiting on from me is a reserve date, and I think I'll try and lock a date down once he has his interview set, or right after the interview. I think the biggest hurdle will be the reserving the minister, who is usually pretty busy, and the photographer. My sister is handling all of the 'pampering' and flowers and the logistics of transportation. We've planned out pretty much everything... the challenge on his end will be arranging flights and hotels for his family, and actually moving all his stuff. We plan on having his family come for a week, and show them around the US for the very first time. And yes, I thought of a civil ceremony.. even just eloping. But this is important to all of our families.. and honestly we've both just always wanted a proper wedding our way... no do-overs.

Hey all-

We received our information from the embassy and went online to schedule interview, earliest available is December 16 and almost everyday after!!! We have to do the medical first so that earliest date wont work for us.... We cannot believe how fast this process has been and that now the embassy is pretty much waiting for us, where we were waiting all this time. CRAZY!

Good luck to everyone on here!
