I diiiiiiiiiid but it's okay. I am blind I think. I'm happy with my responses. It's a bit nerve wracking to put in so many addresses (11!) I hope it doesn't make me look itinerant :| I

Yeah... I've lived in the same house my whole life so I had a breeze of a time filling that form out haha. But as long as you give them everything they asked for on your application you will be fine and just need to relax. Edited by Mandiimoose

I am wondering what others are thinking about the new filing processes. I was thinking that sending in both packets together would allow them to be reviewed at the same time therefore speeding up the process I suppose.

Our case arrived before the new process. We were told by NVC it was OK to send in the IV packet before receiving the invoice. We did and it was received and all seems good so far(waiting for CC).

There are still cases that are waiting for the fee to be invoiced before sending in the packet. There are also new cases that have been invoiced and packets sent in and are now waiting for CC. I am really curious how this is all going to play out.

I guess I am just trying to comprehend what the hell is going on here. I thought I had a pretty good grasp on the procedures but now I have no idea. My only real contribution would be to advise people that are waiting for IV fee to be invoiced before sending in the IV packet to reconsider because it seems to me you may be delaying your cases. Just my thought. Any other ideas on whats happening here in the near future?

Hey Guys !!!

just a small question

- DO I really need to send the original civil Documents to NVC for my CR1 processing ? Can I just make a covering letter and mention on that the originals will be submitted to the Consular officer during the interview at the Consulate ?

Its mainly because I was born in a different country & if NVC does not return my birth certificate then I wont be able to replace it ?

Please Reply guys

I really wish the phrase "certified copy" be struck off from NVC/DOS and VJ. It is confusing many people as they mistake it for notarized copy, which is not acceptable to NVC. We better start using a less vague term. How about: original re-issue?

Wow fantastic! I really support people that are able to get in and out - so i'll be praying for no checklists for you!!

Good for you. Don't have IV bill yet. NVC rep said wait for 5 days.

I think we all have to really realize that unfortunately how much we want a 'process' to be set in place with the NVC - there is none. Some folks win the so called 'lottery' and get their fees/invoice/process that runs smoothly (lottery meaning that there is only a few of us who get that flow) and the rest will have to hold strong and keep waiting.

We all know the process is severely flawed and it doesn't look like the process will change anytime soon - even with the new fees set in place. Good luck to all of us!! But we definitely cheer the ones on that get through it quickly because at least there is hope!
