How did you know it was false did you call and they let you know?

I know it was false because an operator told me two days ago that my AOS was accepted. Also because it fits the description of a false checklist exactly. This is what it says:

______CORRESPONDENCE INSTRUCTIONS:_________________________________

letter. Failure to include the bar code sheet may cause a delay in the processing of your case. The bar
code sheet should be placed on top of all documents being submitted for this case and mailed to the
address provided.

Wow thank you, that made me feel a whole lot better. I'm sending my BC tomorrow :).

What happened with you? Could you explain?

Did you wait to do anything until your new case number as assigned or were you able to do anything on the portals?

My husband is Lebanese but we live in France. Our I-130 showed he planned to apply in Paris and we included documentation of his legal residency here. Our case was initially assigned to Beirut, and I complained and the NVC changed it to Paris. It actually happened before I was able to formally request it by email, so I'm not sure how it was triggered apart from my conversation with the NVC agent. (I did have an email exchange with the Paris embassy about it, but I highly doubt they had anything to do with fixing it.)

I wasn't able to do anything on my case because our the DS-261 and AOS fee weren't ready yet. Since they assign case numbers so fast now, I really don't think you will be delayed. Go ahead and proceed as if the case number were correct, and then stay in contact with the NVC by phone to get your new number after you send in the birth certificate. Hang in there!

So I just called NVC to ask if they got the case yet. I swear it felt like I was talking to a robot. Some very rude guy, who don't even bother to say hi or even who he was. Absolutely nothing.

Just asked me the case number and I gave him. The receipt number from uscis. Like a robot, told me there's no case in the system and to call back after 25 days.

I asked if I would be invoiced the new fees since it's changing tomorrow (Sept 12th), he simply said.. He hasn't been notified of any new fee changes so no and where did I assume that from. I told him it was online. He goes, I haven't been notified so we will go by the old fees as I would consider it.

After a 40 minute hold, I get to talk to a robot who tells me he has no idea about the new fees. How wonderful! Very frustrating.

Just call back every 2-3 days and you should have a case number soon. Don't fall for the amount of days they tell you!

Yeah I mean the lady on the phone said to my husband that it'll take a week to change the case number and then after that the forms and fees should be shortly after.

But I just can't help but dramatically freak out when something goes wrong! It causes so many arguments between me and hubby :(

Thank you so much for your reassurance though! I'm sure it'll all be sorted out soon!

Received checklist at 121 am for her Police Record. It was sent in, along with a translation and certified letter from the translator. Lawyer responded within 5 hours with scanned copies of all documents.

I am really fired up about this. My wife's police record was sent with the translation and certification of translation letter. My lawyer sent me the cover page that she mailed the NVC which provided all of the documents in order. She emailed them the docs again today at 6 am, as well as over nighted the documents today. NVC is saying another 60 days!!!

I think it is BS and just a ploy to buy more time!

Hey Guys got a checklist. but I called them 2 tiems and they cannot access my checklist or they cannot see what the checklist is for. One of the rep was just guessing that it might be Total income.

Is this happen before to anyone?

Never heard of NVC reps not being able to tell what the checklist is for!!! Try speaking to a supervisor..... Only other option is to wait for the checklist email...

Sorry about the checklist.....

I called today and talked to Jack (who was super nice) and he told me exactly what my checklist was and read thru it with me. Guess it's just who you get and what mood they are in.

Yes it is exact word for word. So i just called and she said that she does see to exact ones and that she does not know why that happened. That they have not seen the email I sent Sept 8 because it is not in their system scanned. To give it until next week so it can be scanned in system. I also asked when would they be looking at the checklist and she said 30 days.

30 days great!

Hi Yamil, nice to see a fellow Peru filer :) I actually don't have a CC yet, but I'm 7/22 scan date so I hope I will today or tomorrow? At this point it honestly seems like that magical moment will never come. Either way, I will keep you posted for sure on interview progress.

Question, it seems that Lima (different from most other embassies) strongly encourages the US citizen to be present at the interview, do you know if that is true? I am planning on going with my husband...

Good luck to you, almost there!

Hi Megwin,

No, you dont need to go with your husband, we are three peruvian filers here and one of them just had her interview last wednesday and she had her interview alone. I was planning to be with my husband too but I think it will be not possible :( Good luck too and let keep in touch

Just received email to pay IV fee. Submitted DS261 on 8/12/2014.

Congrats! august 12th eh, lucky! I did mine on August 13th was hoping to pay the fees before the increase. too late now.

I think I got mine yesterday..do i also need to attach that?? Plus, don't you get your document cover sheet after you pay the AOS fees. It gives you an option to print the document cover sheet.

does the document break down a list of stuff you need to financial document and supporting document (it asks you you put a check mark beside each item under "available", "unavailable" and "NA". Thats the one I got

The doucment states to put that letter on top of your AOS and IV package which is what I will do along with the barcode cover letter

I have a question that might proof to be rather complicated. Sorry in advance if it has already been asked, but I didn't want to go through 120+ pages and I don't know what search-term to use in the search engine.

Okay, I'm trying to get the DS-260 done, after filling in everything it tells me to review it. While reviewing I notice that in the top left of the page suddenly is an extra portion called 'location' which wasn't there while I was completing the DS-260. So I try to review it, but it will not let me select it, clicking it does nothing. Going back to the 'complete' page will not show said 'location' tab, and logging out & in wont do anything either. When I go to the 'e-sign' page, it will let me fill everything out but it won't let me click the 'Sign and Submit Application' button. I'm assuming this is because the location tab isn't review -or filled out for that matter-

Of course I'm trying to get through to the NVC to ask them, although I doubt a simple rep is going to be able to help me and so far I never got a supervisor on the line even after asking for one.

So far I tried switching browsers and computers. I started out on Internet explorer because as far as I know, the NVC prefers that for some reason. Firefox and chrome don't do much, swtiching to linux doesn't do anything either.

I included a couple screenshots, in the spoiler below in case my explanation isn't all that clear.

Does anyone have any idea what to do, is there a simple fix for this or am I perhaps being very very dumb and overlooking something obvious?

Thank you in advance for reading this.. quite long question and taking the time to answer it.

I called last Friday to see about sending in IV Packet before it being invoiced and girl asked when I submitted DS261 I told her August 12th, she didn't hesitate and said "oh, Ok I will send that to have it reviewed. You should expect to have your IV invoice available to pay in a few days". I wasn't going to hold my breath. After I thought about it I realized its the day before the fee increases. The email invoice says $230. So yeah I'm feeling quite fortunate. Now I just hope my letter to Senator John McCain can raise some eyebrows if not just for my case but for spousal immigration as a whole.
