I don't care what a person was doing beforehand, if a person puts up their arms to surrender, they should not be shot or attacked again. This should be the same for a petty thief or a murderer. Let the justice system handle it, if the person is surrendering.

I am very concerned about some people's apparent belief that petty crime deserves death, both in this instance, if the person had been stealing, or in the case of a home invasion, where people think that an unarmed person deserves to die for stealing a tv.

Is it that people don't value life? Is it that their fear is so strong that they don't care about life anymore? What if they were mistaken for a thief and a policeman shot them?

Good luck finding those eh?

just like thread about the dead headphone wearing kid, tm, the guy out of la - if there are any means available to cast a teeny tiny hole in a victim's character for the cops to insert justification into the narrative, they will and the majority buys it lock stock and barrel.

More pressing questions:

Why is this coming out now? It takes a week to find out he was a suspect?

If Brown was a suspect in a robbery, why didn't the police roll up with the lights on and detain him, rather than trying to pull him in the car?

Why did he shoot him when he was already out of arm's reach? I could see it if they were still tussling and he shot him, but he was already hit and running before he shot him a few more times.

How do you know this is what happened? The main witness was the other robbery suspect and he lied about them entering the police car and about the activities leading up to the event.

Nobody is saying someone should be killed because of a robbery - Nor do the police claim to have shot the man because he was committing a robbery.. We have two sides and multiple versions of the story.

I agree with you on all but one point Harpa. If a person decides to break into someone's home, whether armed or not, and they end up dead I will not lose sleep over it, nor do I believe the homeowner should ever be held responsible for it. I'm not saying that they deserve to die, I'm just saying if that is the outcome, I'm ok with it. A persons home is their sacred ground.

Its an investigation involving a death, they will always take longer.. What were you suspecting the reason was?

The rest of the questions are based on assumptions that we do not know are true at this point.. There are multiple versions of the story. The truth will come out.

There are shooting in Colorado, mainly in Denver, the TV always covers them and it seems within a day or so, you have a reasonable outline of what the various interested parties are saying.

This one, well very limited information in a very highly charged situation.

Judging from the remarks so far the robbery and the shooting were coincidental.

I was wondering about the gentle giant story and the cc tv had done that one. But we still have an incident, appears minor that escalated very quickly.

In it self minor, the more concerning aspect is how the subsequent rioting response went way over the top. The quasi internal army police thing was the biggest national issue, something that is happening everywhere but this was an eyes wide open moment.

And some believe any story as long as it fits in with their personal agenda. The initial threads on this story were - terrible - slamming the press for not reporting both sides of the story (false) and being slow to report the witness (also false - it was the next day).

We should maybe let the full story come out before deciding what happened and slamming other people for looking at all aspects. I don't see anyone knee-jerk saying this was justified.. The "Majority" just wants the full story. Good for them for not jumping to conclusions.

I've been following this since it broke, just trying to get some simple answers:

Quite a few folks pointed out the guy in the video looks nothing like Michael Brown and was wearing different clothes.

Wearing different clothes, all the photos I have seen were not take on the same day.

He was described as Black, 6" 4" and 300lbs. The facial shots are too blurry on the cctv to be certain.

His friend said they were in the shop and they stole cigars.

THE ROBBERY

The name and address of the store police say was robbed are redacted from the documents, but the store is Ferguson Market and Liquor on West Florissant Avenue.

Also named as a suspect in the robbery is Dorian Johnson, 22, a man who has said he was with Brown when he was shot.

The document release includes surveillance images of the robbery, showing an employee being attacked.

An unidentified employee had just come out of the restroom and come to the counter when she observed Brown telling a clerk he wanted several boxes of cigars, the reports say. The name of two employees have been redacted from the report:

"As (redacted) was placing the boxes on the counter, Brown grabbed a box of Swisher Sweets cigars and handed them to Johnson who was standing behind Brown. (Redacted) witnessed (redacted) tell Brown that he had to pay for those cigars first. That is when Brown reached across the counter and grabbed numerous packs of Swisher Sweets and turned to leave the store. (Redacted) then calls '911.' Meanwhile (redacted) comes out from behind the counter and attempts to stop Brown from leaving. According to (redacted),(redacted) was trying to lock the door until Brown returned the merchandise to him. That is when Brown grabbed (redacted) by the shirt and forcefully pushed him back in to a display rack. (Redacted) backed away and Brown and Johnson exited the store with the cigars."

In an interview with MSNBC shortly after the report was released, Johnson’s lawyer also said that Brown had taken cigars from the store.

“We see that there’s tape, that they claim they got a tape that shows there was some sort of strong-armed robbery,” the attorney, Freeman Bosley, told MSNBC. “We need to see that tape. My client did tell us and told the FBI that they went into the store. He told FBI that he did take cigarillos, he told that to the DOJ and the St. Louis County Police.”

So stealing cigars makes you a thug? Wonder what going on a mass killing spree gets you called...

kinda makes me think everything the 'eyewitness' says is BS.

The entire story stinks. If he was a suspect, they could have rolled up and arrested him.
