I sent my AOS package and i did the DS-261 online. I called the NVC today, and she said they received my package August 6th. and that it will take at LEAST 60 days for them to review it, AND that it will take 60 days for them to review my DS261 which means I will not be able to pay the IOS Fee for 60 days? and THEN i can send that package, so I am looking at EASILY another 4 months. and I have been in the NVC stage already for 2 1/2 months. But yet I was told most people get through the NVC stage in a total of 4 months. did the NVC lady exagerate to me? or am I truly tacking on another prolly 5-6 months till my wife can get here? So depressed. you'd think this country would have a better process than this...

I am at NVC since April 21,2014 and guess what I applied on may,21 2013 this is the longest application I filed, nvc told me I still have 30 more days for review so basically I will be at nvc 5 months and another month to schedule interview and another month after interview. Total at nvc is 7 months total at USCIS 9 months, and total time to ship it to nvc was 3 months so basically total to bring my mother to us is almost 20 months.

Hi everybody good day to all, I know this process is a long wait, really bad on your SO who cant wait till get here, they don't understand that we can't do anything about this process but pay the fees send in document then sit back and wait it sucks, but good luck on your own journey

They understand perfectly that you are waiting and are likely working as hard as possible to get through everything. Please take into consideration their workload. Yes it sucks. Yes it feels unfair. But it is what it is.

well I had my wife do her criminal background check, had it translated, and it has arrived, but it is for the IV package....the criminal backgroun check is valid for 90 days....now lets say i send it in two months....they HAVE it for for 2 months, so it will EXPIRE while it was in the waiting process...what will happen? will they realize it was because of their SLOW process? and accept it? or am i screwed

Am in same boat. On my Police certificate its written that its valid for 3months, had already submitted it with my IV package. The Police certificate will expire next week and my IV package is not yet reviewed. I asked Lagos embassy and they said its valid for 1year.

So fingers crossed to see what NVC has to say when they review my IV package.

All cases are different - guess it depends on who handles it. But I received my IV bill 38 days after they received my DS261. Not to keep your hopes up, but that should at least give a little of idea.

Good luck!
