My lawyer received the RFE in the mail this morning, I will get my copy in the mail this afternoon.

It reads:

"The notarial certificate submitted for the beneficiary's being unmarried is insufficient evidence of marriage termination. Submit a legible copy of the full and final divorce decree that shows proof of filing, or the death certificate, signed, dated, and issued by a judge or civil authorities that terminated the prior marriage(s) between MY FIANCE and HER EX HUSBAND."

We had sent the divorce certificate and certificate of marriageability, in both Chinese and English, but that wasn't good enough since they did not list my Fiance's ex husband's name on them.

It was our mistake, we should have sent the "divorce book" which is what is used in China and is made like a passport book with a few pages, but has all of the information, stamps and seals needed. My baby will scan it from to back as a passport and then I will have it professionally translated. I will then submit both the Chinese and English translation of it.

That's the trouble, every country does things their own special way, but the USCIS wants their way or the highway.

I think I can get it straight and mail back the RFE on Monday.

Good to you mike. So how long did it take for the hard copy to come? I'm kindof eager to see what they want from me . I think more evidence as I did not send a ton I think. Just some pictures , couple of receipts. Neither one of us have been married before and don't have children. We shall see!

Am I the only one that got transferred to Cali from Texas that has not received an approval or an RFE? Looking at the Igor list, it seems Cali is back to approving July applications. I’m wondering if my application got lost in the transfer. :cry: :cry:

Um there too ! :cry::crying:
