We received our letter with the interview schedule for April 15. Pfuu finally!!!! :). We are happy and also a little bit stressed. Until now it was just the wait for the schedule but now that the interview is there it doesn't seems real at all. I have the filling that the days are shorter and shorter ...OMG I might go crazy till the interview :-s

Anyway, for dose who had the interview, and came on a k1 and had their medical examination and vaccination already in their country, did you had to do another set of medical examination here in US for the USCIS?

On our notice for the interview it says that we should bring a medical examination and vaccination supplement(it dose says unless already submitted, BUT WE NEVER SUBMITTED ANYTHING WILE I'M IN US).

I remember that I had a medical examination before I came to US and before the interview at the embassy, in my country. I think I had a kidney scan, psychological examination, eyes exam and some other exams I don't really remember. I took all the medical exams from the doctor to the embassy sealed in an envelop and gave it to the person that interviewed me and he gave me another envelop with all my paper that I had to give it to the person with the immigration at the airport when I entered US. They (at the airport) took all my papers and said that they are going to send everything to USCIS. So I guess my medical exams are at the USCIS but how can I be sure? Should I call? Do I need another set of medical exams from here? .....

Pfuu..

Help!

And thank you all for the infos!!!

Sorry for the late response haven't been logging in much after the NPIW. The CBP at the Port of Entry is supposed to send all of your medical information to USCIS to be processed. If they lost it you will be asked to go to a civil surgeon and complete an I-693 form http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-693.pdfif everything was processed properly at POE you should be fine. Congratulations on your early interview! We filed AOS the same time, I wish we had an interview instead of a NPIW. The wait time for a waiver letter is a year and some change. Most people have to renew their EAD cards too so consider yourself very fortunate to have an interview. Best of luck. Make sure to review Captain Ewok's post too http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/307-applying-for-aos-in-the-usa/?p=2427

Hi guys

I have a question!!!!!!!!

In the notice that we got from USCIS for the interview they say that we must bring: A completed AOS (Form I-864) with all required evidence, including the following, for each of your sponsors (unless already submitted)

My question is do we need to complete another form I-864 with all the new information or is it enough if we print the form we submitted with the package we sent last year in August for I-485 ?

Because they say we should bring tax returns, stubs, w2.......for the MOST RECENT YEAR, so correctly would be to complete a new form I-864 right?

HELP, TNX

You don't need to bring submit a new affidavit since you already did last August. Instead take copies of your tax returns especially the latest one if you guys have already filed. They might wanna know if your spouse is still currently employed at the aforementioned place on the affidavit or not. So you wanna take in spouse's letter of employment and all that good stuff they requested. Good luck!

Hi friends,

We were approved  !! (really happy and excited :dancing::dancing: )

Just want to let you know how our interview went.

We were schedule for 10:00 am today, we were there 15 minutes before, they called us in maybe 5-10 minutes after 10:00 am. A really nice lady (don't remember her name  )

She asked me all my information on the I-486 form, then she asked my husband same thing about his information, then she asked me the yes/no questions.

Next she asked us if we have any evidence of our relationship, and we pulled out like 9 folders of papers, but she only took:

-cable bills,

-car insurance,

-bank statements,

-a letter from my sister in law (written in our behalf ),

-a letter from my mother in law stated that she is letting us live with her for free ( she is paying the rent, we don't have a contract or anything),

-a letter from my volunteer work that I'm doing,

-and some applications from the recruiter that I work with to find a job,

-our joint tax return, stubs and w2 (from my husband work)

-and maybe some other small papers like guest pass at a gym etc.

We also gave her live 5 pages with almost 30 pictures on it from our wedding and gatherings with family and friends. She was really, really nice.

The only more personal question that she asked was how did you met? We told her the story and then she went out of the office and came back and told us that we were approved. She stamped a paper (that state that we were approved), she took my EAD, and told us that we are gonna get my GC in a couple of weeks.

By 10:36 am we were already in the car on our way back home.

Was really simple!

We wanna thanks everyone here on the site for all the support and all the information, and also good luck to all of you who are still waiting.

Have a good day!!!

So the office of our congressman got back to us and forwarded USCIS's mail stating:

Thank you for your inquiry on behalf of your constituent, ***** regarding her pending I-485.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records confirm that ***** case is pending background check clearance. A small percentage of applications and petitions have unresolved background check issues that temporarily delay adjudication. Although USCIS makes every effort to resolve such cases promptly, USCIS is unable to speculate when the background check will be completed.

If a background check reveals an issue that may impact an applicant's eligibility for the requested immigration benefit, further inquiry is needed. The inquiry may include an additional interview and/or contact with another agency for updates or more comprehensive information. Upon gathering and assessing all available information, USCIS will adjudicate the application as quickly as possible.

USCIS realizes that ***** may be frustrated by the progress of her case.

We hope this information is helpful. If we may be of further assistance, please let us know.

Is it just me or does this sound like a load of BS? 8 months for a background check? I responded to our congressman saying I want specific answers such as if my case was actually assigned to anyone for adjudication. I'm not buying the general bs answer at all.

OMG!! How frustrating this is and you must be. My heart goes out to you guys. If it takes me 8 months to do a task that normally only takes 1-2 months, I'd probably be fired! I am just thinking out loud now, but why can't they give you an idea of what in the background is holding up the process. Was there a criminal history?

Totally BS. I put in a service request and got something similar..

"Due to workload factors not related to your case, uscis anticipates a delay in completing your case." Blah blah sorry for any inconvenience we're doing first in first out blah blah blah.
