NVC says they may take upto 60 days to review AOS package. But can somebody tell, how long is it actually taking? and God forbids if someone gets checklist, how long after scan date, they issue checklist and time taken to review checklist?

They took 30 days to review my AOS. And got a checklist exactly on the 30th day after i sent my AOS. My case was reviewed and declared closed after almost 2 months of me responding to the checklist.

Sent AOS: may 15th 2014

Responded to checklist 24th June, 2014

Case closed: 19th Aug 2014 ( called)

Hope this helps

Well, it's up to the embassy of who they want to expedite and on what grounds to accept it. Being pregnant is not an automatic expedite in the process. They would argue that you could have prevented that by taking simple common measures. At the end of the day, it's not NVC that accepts the expedite, It's the embassy and they're all different.

OP is trying to prove he still has domicile in the states, where as you live in the States, and you are current at that resident address the CO at interview wouldn't bother really giving much thought into the letter.

Congrats.. Yes, make sure when you send a correction on the I-864 you send all 9 pages again.. Make sure you bring the updated one to interview! :):dancing:

Congratulations! :):dancing:

Yes I m not talking about Nvc expedite since it depends on embassy. I was talking about Uscis expedite because a lot of people apply for that yet get denied. So that's y I think they do not treat people equally.

Edited to say that I don't know if Uscis also sends requests to embassy. If that's the case then it makes sense :)

I think for USCIS, if you both are married and live abroad, you have a very high chance of getting an expedite. For NVC stage to embassy, I think some embassies are just less busy than others. Since NVC is so backed up right now, it actually probably speeds things up for everyone if some embassies can take some cases early to lessen the burden on NVC, resulting in NVC hopefully being able to process things more quickly.

Because USCIS is different from NVC and the Embassy. USCIS was expediting those in serious natural disasters, serious medical issues.. etc.. It even lists the criteria on the website. I've never seen anyone that was pregnant get expedited during USCIS unless there was a serious medical issue there. The US government would have said it wasn't their fault that you chose to get pregnant and not trying to prevent it until after the process was over. USCIS deals with all applications, it would be hard to try to expedite everyone if they were pregnant. Could you imagine if everyone just got pregnant just for the sake of getting expedited?

No they don't send the expedite request to the embassy. If you are approved at USCIS for an expedite request, you then have to put in another expedite request at NVC stage which then sends it to the embassy.

One thing I don't understand, people who submitted their DS- 261 in July are still waiting for IV fee invoice and people who did that in August (seen 2-3 cases) have their IV fee unlocked? why is it so? Aren't they reviewing the online forms in order. I want to be honest. I am Jealousssss. Why am I not lucky? :crying: It hurts

Lol jmsumner but that's exactly what I m saying that they didn't use to do it in the past and now they have started doing it so that I found weird. In case u missed some previous posts someone got the expedite for pregnancy. And also at Nvc again. So basically they got done with the whole process in 3 months.

Ok, good.

Now I filled out my Affidavit of Support, this time I put N/A in all the parts for 7 a,b,c,d because I do not want to use asset as supplemental income. This is the stupid reason why I am in this mess. Everything is approved (cosigner and all documents) just my stupidity in filling out this section and NOT sending in bank statements caused my 2ND CHECKLIST. Even though I am below poverty line and even though my income wont be looked at.

Should I still send bank statements? I am so paranoid now that they will still be like "Well checklist said bank statements..." even though I completed a new Affidavit of Support and omitted part 7.

Now I included a letter explaining I made a mistake and i didnt want asset as supplemental income included and signed it. That is what a rep told me to do, he said you dont even need to include a new form and I said Well too bad I am sending it.

I dont know if should just send teh bank statements as well even though technically they are no longer needed :unsure: Then I am afraid I send them and they are like "why is he sending these for they are no longer needed, maybe he filled out form wrong...checklist!"

Anyone else have opinion on what I should do?

Is it ok to submit a new affidavit omitting part 7 with a signed letter explaining that? I will include bank statements just to be safe.

The issue is those balances were from 4 months ago so what do you? If you decide to include assets do you update the amounts on a new AOS to reflect that? Do you not? Rep said minor fluctuations are fine yeah whatever like I'm going to believe him.

I don't want to use assets to supplement income I have a cosigner for that
