Hey- does this message mean I can schedule my own interview online- or that I should wait until it is scheduled for me.. Confused again lol

I have the same question, I just got that same status now! I do know that you do your own scheduling for K1 interview though.

K-1

I-129F NOA1 => NOA2: 161 days

NOA2 => Interview: 64 days

AP: 33 days

Total: 258 days

AOS

I-485 NOA => GC: 333 days

No Interview

ROC

07/30/2017: Package Sent

08/01/2017: NOA

09/07/2017: Biometrics

12/04/2018: Approved! 490 days

I got this message when they sent my application to the consulate. For K-1 you have to book I believe and for CR1 they book for you.

My understanding is that first you complete the packet 3 and then the consulate sends you packet 4, which is apparently just the link to book the interview and medical.

Yup, this is how we did ours (for Chinese embassy)...we waited until P4 email before we

scheduled the interview.

11-21-2013 We met in person in Shanghai for 2 weeks

12-13-2013 I-129F packet sent via express

12-19-2013 USCIS NOA #1 (text and email) received

12-24-2013 USCIS assigns Alien Registration Number
12-31-2013 USCIS NOA #1 hard copy received
06-02-2014 USCIS web site shows NOA #2 approval
06-06-2014 USCIS web site shows case sent to NVC

06-xx-2014 Fiancee acquired birth, marriage, and police certificates from local police station (wrong)

Actually you know what- the message that says it is "ready for em to schedule" the link goes to Packet 4... I seeeeeeeee

"Packet 4" isn't really anything besides the consulate providing the link to book the interview and approved doctors for the medical. I think the medicals out east take a lot more time to put the package together so make sure you look into booking the medical asap.

Each US embassy has their own rules. I was K-1 visa filer and the US embassy had scheduled the interview date for me whereas in the Philippines K-1 visa filers booked interview date by themselves.

For OP:

Check specific country on VJ where your beneficiary comes from and take a look how an interview is scheduled.

I actually booked my medical yesterday for Aug 5th.. NEXT WEEK! and interview is Aug 20th!?

Crazy soon... WOOOWHOO

"Packet 4" isn't really anything besides the consulate providing the link to book the interview and approved doctors for the medical. I think the medicals out east take a lot more time to put the package together so make sure you look into booking the medical asap.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
