Visa APPROVED!!!!!! Everything went well. I was super nervous and my husband was not lol. They allowed me to be with him at all times, except when it was time for the interview I couldn't say anything

Not sure if anyone saw this, but the State Dept actually issued a FAQ on the system outage! http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english/news/ccd-performance-issues.html

Really looks like this is only affecting nonimmigrant visas on a large scale.

We continue to prioritize immigrant visas, adoption cases, and emergency nonimmigrant visa cases. We are printing visas for these cases with very few delays.

Some people here probably disagree :)

Also, in case anyone's interested, this outage event is not being reported in Russia as a worldwide computer glitch, but a secret US sanction directed only at Russia (US EMBASSY STOPS ISSUING VISAS TO RUSSIANS!!!!).

My wife had people coming up to her at work asking her what she was going to do now that the US is not giving visas to Russians, so I had to tell my wife that unless France and Australia are being sanctioned as well, there's nothing to worry about.

To all the people that have received the news of their interview dates over the last couple of days by calling the NVC, has anyone received their official email notification yet? How long does this usually take? I thought it was sent out pretty much straight away but I've not received anything.

Ours was issued as well!

Something must have happened everywhere because you and I have the same interview date :)

If my husband gets it in the mail Friday, he will still make his Saturday flight. I wonder if they send them in the mail the day that they are listed as Issued?

We bought a Express Post bag that guarantees next day delivery and we sent it to a business address in the city to ensure that it was a metro area where they guarantee next-day delivery.

Hopefully it gets here! Congrats!

The post office in Paris received the package an hour ago! Perhaps you'll receive it tomorrow! :-)

Mine is on its way as well with Chronopost (French Post express delivery), so I should get it tomorrow

I signed up for Chronopost emails and according to them, my husband will receive it Monday. Not enough time to fly out with me :( He'll have to go Tuesday. If your France, getting it tomorrow is more likely.

Well, I found I was too relaxed so I asked the Department of State to cause a major system muck up aka "glitch" so I could have more to worry about. It's worked great!!

Seriously, my husband is cool as a cucumber. It's like the final exam before graduation. You know you already passed the course, it's just one more hurdle until you can throw all the papers in the air Mary Tyler Moore style and run down the street screaming.

August 6th is creeping up on us, I hadn't realized it was so close until LifeOnHold said something to me about it!

You'll be fine, and we're all in here together for your last minute nerves :-)

Girllll... You are almost there!! And then it's a nice honeymoon in Europe where you can devour your husband and pinch yourself to make sure it's real. I've been packing up hubby's things and he's starting to get nervous. He's also driving me a bit insane. But it's easier to manage when we're together than apart lol.

It's officially August across the pond so I'm taking the liberty to say he's coming home this month!!!! I'm SO glad you haven't been waiting in limbo for too long! When will your life officially be off hold?

He did tell me I'm driving him crazy (he's the one who married a crazy person, mmk) but I just don't want anything to go bananas at this stage! Once I'm there, we'll tidy up the loose ends, have a fab going away party and we'll be going to the Emirates Stadium to (hopefully) see the stone I had engraved with him and his late father's name on it!

P.S. the interview date was moved to the anniversary of his father's passing - I'm sure I mentioned that before - so we got pops looking out for us :-)

IF all goes well, and that is IF, my life will no longer be on hold as of next Tuesday. Then it will be, "LifeStrugglingWithAnImmigrantHubby" lol. I am absolutely the crazy one in this relationship. He knows, I know it, our families know it, our friends know it... He always says that my father paid him to marry me because no one wanted me (it's not true, duh... At least I don't think).

Your interview will be just fine. And the way things are headed it seems he'll get his Visa soon after. Whoooo!!!

I haven't got mine yet, either. But from what I've read, it usually takes about a week (just like getting the case complete email).

Case complete on july 10th and still did not get interview date. :/

Oh no! Where are you from? Maybe you're from a country that has a backlog .. ???

6 Mar 2013 -- I130 transferred to Orlando local field office (which started the whole nightmare)

Mar 2013 to October 2013 no one would tell us where our case was or what was happening. I suspected the whole time it was just sitting in a corner somewhere in the Orlando field office. I was pretty much right.

October 2013 - get congressman involved. Congressman asks USCIS repeatedly about our case but they won't even tell them anything.

31 Jan 2014- finally get NOA2!!!! (we think the nightmare is over!)

Our case was not sent from the Orlando field office as it should have been. The nightmare continues. We kept calling NVC and asking if they received our case, and they always said "NO" and that we had to wait 90 business days for it to be received. We called USCIS during this time and they kept telling us it had been sent. After the 90 days of agonizing frustration, NVC then started telling us we had to wait 120 business days. I got our congressman involved again, and they told the congressman it was sitting at the Orlando office this whole time (just as I thought it was!).
