If all is good, probably. I got check-listed, twice due to AOS , even got checklisted for the interview. But all went good, hope all goes smooth for you.

Thank you.

My biggest fear was AOS checklist. I filled it out different that what was advised by Saylin, just followed my gut feeling because it made sense. :D

This is the worst waiting of all. I have zero patience left in me. I just want it done since it is the end!

Actually, I feel like the worse waiting is now! I already have a date settle to travel to US, but time seems to be taking forever to pass. Less than 3 weeks, :clock: but why is it taking soooo long to pass.

I know of this field investigations in Philippines, Pakistan, and India to name a few that I know specifically of.

Never seen and heard that kind of situation in philippines. But who knows, maybe they doing that thing on the case that they already suspected as a fraud.

I asked in NVC filers but might as well ask here because everyone is already through the NVC here.

Do they CC as soon as they review IV package if that's the only package(AOS approved, 261,260 also approved) left to be reviewed?

Yes if all is good and accepted for both packages yes that's Case Complete and they send out email (not 100% of time) 1 week later that's why we say call.

Hey Dwheels and fellow vj - I've read that you need to bring a signed statement (notarized also???) to the interview stating the names, address, and phone number of relatives living in the US. My wife has an uncle but he lost contact with their family for 30 years now, so what kinda list can I make?

what if your neighbors said you weren't married out of spite?

Great! more people to suck up to.

Wow. I'll never understand why someone would do that to another person.

Oh... I wouldn't put it beyond my 70+ year-old mom. She believes everything west of Mecca is the land of the devil, and if she had her way, would have all her middle-aged kids' and grandkids' passports burned. She's one Mother of a mother hen, bless her.

Women showing up at embassy saying "Bob is leaving me and baby he meet foreign woman"....its all lies but enough to raise suspicion because well its Nigeria and people already suspect you of wrong doing.

It's fairer to say mostly lies. Not all girl-friends or present wives of polygamists are nutters or just spiteful.

A few years ago I was asked to provide names/addresses/ID numbers for all my siblings regardless where they lived. I'm bringing one just in case they ask for it. I think the list should only include first-degree relatives (parents, kids and siblings).

This process already takes an emotional toll on us, the last thing any of us need is additional stress from family and community trying to make this tougher. My heart goes out to everyone having extra mountains to climb in this nightmare!

Wow they really call your neighbor? This is new to me

Yes they called my neighbors and asked some questions about me. My neighbor asked her how did she get their phone number? She says, from telephone dictionary.

It would only be bad if they said you weren't married or you had another wife or girlfriend. They do sometimes for some do field

investigations. Nothing to worry about. Good sign neighbors know you and know you are married.

Thanks dwheels76. I thiink embassy do inquiry after interview. But in my case why did they inquiry before interview? They also called to our village Sarpach and asked him to address for coming. It is almost 15teen days ago. But they did not come untill now.

In many cultures, a nuclear family is non-existent. A new marriage is just an extension of the grand family. All members of this extended grand family feel they have the right to meddle in (even the neighbors in small villages). Heck, some arranged marriages amount to little more than human trafficking.

God help the Western-brought up person who marries into such families. Attempting to pluck out their loved ones from them is equivalent to declaring war.

By the way, I'm not just talking about the Royal Family. ;)

Touche! My husband has a big family and he's close with all of them. But England is a Western area and the family unit is similar to that of US families. Luckily, his hasn't meddled, but part of me feels like they think I'm taking him away from them. Geographically, yes. But we'll still visit, video call and the like, the connection will remain. It's a big change for them, too, so it's going to be an adjustment.
