If you have a regular income, I believe you only need last years. Not sure if you need employer letter though.

Called the NVC hotline and the very helpful lady told me that August interviews are out as they just "got" my AOS on 6/30 (even though it arrived a week prior), and it takes 30 working days to get it

Nvc received my case last May 30th. Called them last night for an update and the agent was really rude. She told me to wait for 30 days in a condescending tone . I hope someday these people will real

Hi Ingrid, I too was alone through out my pregnancy. Baby is two months old now. The process is taking a lot longer than I expected.

I have a question regarding income. I see on the I-186 form that you need to show the past 3 years tax returns. I've only filed taxes the last 2 years because I've been working for now going into 3 years. (I was in school and didn't really work). Will I get an RFE? I am working and I make enough with this new job and my mother is going to be a joint sponser.

Only the most recent tax return is required. The other two are optional (but helpful). I would send the most recent and then submit a job letter (theworknumber.com is good if your company uses them, otherwise you can ask your boss to write a letter showing length of employment and salary) and send last 6 or so months of pay stubs.

Just received this information from a source in the Domincan consulate. For all the petitioners and beneficiaries waiting for an interview date in the DR, just in case you aren't aware, the consulate is moving next week June13-16. They are currently rescheduling some June interviews pushing them into July. This is why they have not forward the NVC with their July availability. All we can do is wait, but thought I would share this as I am also impatiently waiting for my 2 daughters' interviews......

This sucks. I've been watching the news on the new Consulate for the last few months hoping the opening would be delayed until after our interview. I'm just beginning at the NVC so I'm hoping the backlog will be cleared a little by interview time. Hoping for August but likely September. Santo Domingo is notoriously slow for the interview process already, so the delay is going to be even worse. That said, there is a rumor that staff is going to be expanded and Consulate services improved. I was on a flight from Atlanta to Santo Domingo a few weeks back and I sat next to a Consulate employee that said visa interviews along with most other consulate services will be positively affected by the new building and planned increase in staff.

I have a tax question. I ordered the 3 tax transcripts (2012, 2011, 2010). I cannot get 2013 because I filed for an extension. Will that be a problem with NVC? I do have a copy of my extension application so I can show that.

Second question: what exactly is needed when using ONLY assets for spousal support. I live abroad so my income doesn't count, I will be using ASSETS ONLY and am not sure what documentation I need. Just a bank statement showing the amount I have in my account?

Thanks for this thread Josh125 - I had just posted a query about a separate thread for Canadian filers after I was overwhelmed with trying to work through Saylin's June NVC thread.

But November filers at least narrows it down some.

We got notification our I130 was sent to NVC June 4th - we were approved May 29th. We have an immigration lawyer and she's ready with all our documents,save my police certificate, which I should have in the next week or so. She'll be ready to file as soon as Case number is provided. Good thing I have to go away on business for 2 weeks, so won't have time to obsess over this part! LOL

Well, after 45 minutes on hold, I ended up hanging up with the NVC agent because he was such a jerk. First of all, he wouldn't hold on for more than 1 minute because my baby was crying and I wanted to grab her before reading him the USCIS case number.

He talked to me like I was an idiot then asked me the date I received the NOA2. When I said, May 27th, he told me that I need to read him word for word all of the information on the NOA2 (aka he wanted me to get to the part where it says, "wait 30 days before contacting NVC"). I ended up just hanging up. Grrrr :ranting:

I got told before asking my case had arrived and just to wait 30 days for my case #

I don't know who it was...next time I'll be sure to ask for a name. In the June NVC thread, people were saying that Arthur is really rude too.

Just called again to see if they've received our case -- big surprise -- they haven't. Joy (my first nice operator I've spoken with) said that it takes about 5 weeks for them to receive it. I know that's their normal line but it does make me realize that I should stop wasting my time calling and give it another 2-3 weeks. Because even if I call and find out they've received it, it'll be another long wait before a case number is assigned.
