well I received a checklist for my AOS packet saying to complete the DS 261 which I did on May 9 then again on 28 May....why can't they see that in the system and not send a checklist stating to complete it?????

I don't think I need to do anything except wait...right???? Still can't pay IV invoice but sent IV packet and they received 9 June....

Sounds like the May 28 DS-261 has overridden the May 9 one. Maybe worth calling to check on that.

i got checklist email today 18th june, 2014 saying :

______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________

The National Visa Center received your DS-260 form. We are waiting for the traveling applicant’s

supporting civil documents to be submitted to the NVC. Your online Immigrant Visa Application will be

reviewed upon receipt of your supporting documentation.

But i have sent the supporting civil documents and was told they are scanned in system on 17th June, 2014.

Just want to confirm, this is false checklist right?

If you sent them already then yes, this is a false checklist

I got the NOA2 e-mail June 10. I expect to be here this month and next just waiting for numbers. I never expected to be this far along by now so I will just wait and prepare my documents

Wow!!! I'm very jealous of your I-130/USCIS timeline. Welcome to the NVC. Be sure to ready Saylin's wiki (first post in this thread) a couple of times to familiarize yourself with the process.

what is needed doc/paperwork wise to be sent with my ds 260 ?

If you already sent in the civil docs then you don't need to send anything else in for the DS-260 (but do print the confirmation to take to the interview). If you haven't sent your civil docs then check Saylin's wiki for details on what to send.

My In-laws' cases are complete as of yesterday. We received a checklist for i-864A for not writing "N/A" for address (on 06/12). When I had questioned NVC about the checklist, I was told that Mumbai consulate doesn't want any fields to be left blank. I re-sent the forms with "N/A" (received by nvc on 16th, still have not been scanned), and emailed the consulate stating that this is absolutely absurd, waste of resources, abuse of power and fraud. NVC is already backlogged and people are getting ridiculous checklist similar to mine. Also, if this is a requirement, it should be made public knowledge. Mumbai Consulate called NVC and got checklist removed.

FYI: AOS fee is "N/A"

1-Is it compulsory to bring co-sponsor tax returns and basic information filled in i 864 in interview?

2-Secondly, the mail i have received of case completion has a subject of ISLXXXXXXX (checklist), but it is stated that "we have finished your case and we will send you interview date, do not contact with US embassy in pakistan"....so my question is that everyone who receive the the case completion mail has the same subject of mail and everyone has to bring co-sponsor tax returns and basic information in interview with him/her ? please advice..

Our embassy has emailed us yesterday requesting I bring Photocopies of 2013 U.S. taxes of your spouse and your joint sponsors (names).

It doesn't specify returns vs transcripts, and our AOS forms were sent to NVC early enough that we used 2012 as the most recent year, so the consulate clearly wishes to see 2013 taxes. I'll also take (to the interview) fresh 2013 AOS's that my husband and joint sponsor/her hubby have provided/ sent to me recently

So happy right now!!! Didn't catch the name of the operator, she told me that my case was going to be sent to the embassy shortly, because of my expedited interview request.

If you have a lawyer, you don't have to fill out the DS-261 form. It's taking up to 30 days for NVC to review the DS-261 form now (It only took 5-14 days until early May). Since the IV fee is tied with the DS-261, they (applicants with a lawyer) can pay the IV fee without waiting for up to 30 days. So if you have a lawyer, you could finish the NVC stage a month faster compared to applicants (without a lawyer) who have to fill out the DS-261 form and wait for up to 30 days to pay the IV fee.

Supervisor Ike said, "Well, you could hire a lawyer." Right! Like I was going to pay $2,000-5,000 to hire a lawyer just to pay the IV fee faster. LOL

Then again, those of us with lawyers are still sitting here waiting for a case complete thanks to their ignorance or sheer stupidity! All those whom I shared a timeline with earlier (and didn't have lawyers) have gotten CC and even completed medicals and are in line for an interview any time now. I'm sitting here still waiting for a CC that will probably only come in 3 weeks or so because of a silly mistake our paralegal/lawyers made. So pleaseeeeeee just do it yourself... Don't pay someone to make a mistake for you

Ok after 50 looonnng minutes of being on hold Agent Tessa informed me that we have a CASE COMPLETE as of today..Our documents were scanned on May 20th. She has no idea if they are still scheduling for July interview. I feel relieved ??
