Help me please :(

I filled in some parts of DS-260 forms online but in the middle of it, i found out that the green card holders cannot stay out of US for long.

I have some commitments in my hometown and plan to get married end of this year. :(

So i think i got cold feet and dont want to proceed with application any further.

Help me how to withdraw? The status now is "Incomplete" .

You aren't confined to the US. You are just supposed to live here more than not and as a DV lottery winner you actually have a year of grace period before they start to enforce the rule if that makes a difference

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

ohh! Thank you guys so much!

so it means i leave it as incomplete and i can still apply B1 visa end of this year right?

As long as I can go visit to US, i'm good! hehe im holding a myanmar passport so it's a must for me to apply visa to almost every country.

But if the immigration officer asks me if i have intention to live in US, then i just said No even though i have filled out DS-260?

I don't understand this. You probably won't get your greencard this year, and even if you do, just don't go. Travel early next year.

You've invented a false limitation.

Why would you do this when you can get an awesome greencard?

Buckyball, you do not have the right to call anyone an idiot. This forum is to help people who need clarifications. If you can't help at least dont judge. Suu, applying for the lottery is intent of immigration you need to declare that on your application. Good luck =)

Hi! Thank you for defending me. Really appreciate it.

Actually when the time I applied, I was employed and didn't have a plan to get married.

But now I m self employed and getting married.

So now I don't really feel like migrating cos I have to start from Zero and I will be separated from my fiancé considering he might not get the visa.

Thats why. Just so complicated.

False limitation? ;(

I'm getting married and scared partner won't get also :(

Worried that it might affect my chance to go visit in the future :(

Applying for the lottery is not intent to immigrate - it is just entering a lottery. Submitting a DS230 or now DS260 is the intent to immigrate. I'd say if the OP does not hit "submit" on the DS he has not shown intent and does not need to declare it.

Why do you think your fiancé would not get a visa? Does he have a criminal record?

Same question, why are you worried about your partner not getting one?

Hi Suu you haven't submitted the Ds-260 because its incomplete you can just walk away and not complete it.

Thank you! I will just leave it as it is then! :)

Hi!

Thank you for the info! I will just leave it. :)

My partner has no criminal record or illegal records.

Me and my partner we both hold passport that needs to apply visa to almost every country.

Just my concern that he may not get the green card too cuz i heard a lot of stories about family seperated due to the visa issue. :(

That's why.
