Punctuality - I try to be on time to everything, and when someone is late, it tells me that they think that their time is more important than mine.

Sounds - The gum thing mentioned earlier, clacky shoes on tile, tapping a pencil, silverware on glass/ceramic plate, etc...oh, so much more.

People who think rules do not apply to them...turn signals, speed limits, quiet in the movie theater, and so on and so on.

Women who think they are SOOO fat when they only have 5lbs to lose...puhleez, give me a break.

Kids in the mall walking 5 abreast at the pace of a dead slug.

ANYONE talking on the phone while driving.

Long hair for women!!

Why would a woman want really short hair anyway, too lazy to style it? Or as suggested above?

I'm with you on that one, Charles. Nothing worse than a woman with short hair. Well, no - a man in womens clothing is worse. LOL.

Nothing worse than a man with NO hair. Too lazy to wash it?

 Too funny... Personally, I have a full head of hair. For those that don't, that is heredity. They have no control over that.

What is your point?

Nothing worse than a man with NO hair. Too lazy to wash it?

I don't know the owner of the car. For a solid hour, the car alarm honked for two minutes, lay silent for one. Rinse. Repeat.

That's not a pet peeve. That's grounds for justifiable homicide.

My worst ever is if I'm sitting/standing/working ... next to someone who has a very runny nose and does not do anything against it. So they sit/stand/walk around snuffling, and if it's a bad runny nose, it sounds like a really juicy snore.

I have never understood why on earth they wouldn't just blow their nose

That and the people who work at the Casablanca Consulate...well one in particular. No one should be paid that much money to treat human beings in such a rude way!

I'll vouch for you at the trial if you do the same for me... :innocent:

When men say "all women should have long hair" they mean long, thick, healthy hair or else it just looks natty and gross. Not all of us are capable of that. That's heredity too. That said, I prefer mine semi-long even though ever since I went to Brazil it's gotten less thick and is no longer curly but straight/wavy. (Weird)

MY PPOTD (pet peeve of the day, of course): When your sleeves get wet while you're washing your hands. Or when your tummy gets wet from leaning into the sink while doing dishes.

Or when it rains and just your boobs get wet and the bottom of your shirt is dry. Not only do you have wet boobs but then everyone can see that your boobs provided shelter for your stomach. Maybe that's a girl thing... :P

PET PEEVES

When customers come in the store and I say 'Welcome to ........' and they are on their bluetooth phone having a conversation.

When women pull dollars out of their bra

When hubby balls up his dirty socks (honey why do you think I want to stick my fingers in there on laundry day?)

When my car needs gas and it is 25 degrees and snowing

Jackie (F)

One of my BIG pet peeves is: when my husband leaves his dirty clothes (esp. socks) in the hamper INSIDE OUT. OMG, I want to slap him when he does this. My feeling is, 1) He's never in SUCH a rush that he can't take the 3 extra seconds that are needed to take dirty clothes off in the right way 2) I'm good enough to do the laundry, he can at least be courteous enough not to make me reach my hands into his dirty, sweaty, smelly socks to turn them the right way  I also hate it when he takes his clothes off and just throws them on the floor, inside out, of course. !!!

Another big pet peeve is anytime uneaten food is left lying around on the plate. Even if you don't actually want to WASH the plate yourself, at least don't let food hopelessly stick to it so the person who does eventually wash the dish has to get out the brillo and scrape residue off.

And finally, and I think I've mentioned this on another pet-peeve thread, but... older women who wear clothes marketed and geared toward high school students. It never makes them look younger or prettier; it's just makes them seem detached from reality. Older women can look so nice (oftentimes much better than their younger counterparts), but since only a few young girls and women really look good in bellyshirts, older women look even worse.

I hate that too... and my hubby's shirts almost always have one sleeve inside, and same with his pants... and I am having to take the extra time to sort them all out before I can do laundry :P

Gum smacking!! (My mother thinks people should just never chew gum in public!!) But my biggest pet peeve is -

When people confuse 'your' and 'you're'!!

Your: of or relating to you or yourself. Ex: your hair, your pet peeve

You're: the conjuction for 'you are'. Ex: you're so funny, you're the love my life

I know it's not that big of a deal but it really makes my blood boil (Guess that's what makes it a pet peeve!!)

I cannot stand people who are fake. I also don't like annoying coworkers. People who don't know how to drive also annoy me.
