Question of what to say so I don't get taken advantage of by Civil Surgeon

I called in for Dr. Anthony Blau and I explained that I only needed the vaccination history to be transcribed, but the lady on the phone said it was going to be $200. She said that if blood tests and other exams happened more than a month ago, that they'd need to be re-done. What the hell is this (excuse my language)? Based on what I've read on these forums it sounds like they're trying to take advantage of me. What are the proper documents or things I can say when I head over there to let them know they should probably charge me less.

You do not need the medical exam tests repeated. If your medical was done within a year of filing for AOS, that is all you need. No exam or parts/tests of it. You just need the vaccinations to be completed.

I am in NYC and we are trying to go through Dr. Anthony Blau but his lady who answered the phone wasn't trying to hear my side. I'll have to show her everything and see what they say in person. Thanks for the replies.

We did not go a CS and submitted the DS 3025 along with these instructions: Green Card in hand with no RFE!

3. What if I am a K nonimmigrant visa holder and already had a medical exam overseas?

If you were admitted as a:

a. K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e); or as a

b. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen; and

c. You received a medical examination prior to admission, then:

(1) You are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination, and the medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition, or if you did have a Class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility and have complied with the terms and conditions on the waiver.

(2) Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original overseas medical examination report, you will have to have the vaccination report completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you are required to submit the vaccination record and page 1 of Form I-693.

You tell them, I am looking for a vaccine transcription for people who had an immigration medical abroad within the past year, not the full medical exam.

If they say no then call someone else. You can't force them to do it.

Agreed with the rest. You need to call around to check which CS will give you the best price with the required vaccine and I-693 transcription. The prices vary for each CS and some will insist that your fiancee will need a new medical, which is unnecessary if she had it within the year.

I'm sure I read somebody posted for a CS in NYC in that thread. Also, some had their missing vaccine from the city / county health department, so you can probably check out this option too.

I have had the same situation as yours. Although I showed them the instruction on I-693 and I-485 stated that I don't have to do new exam. They didn't even listen and insisted to do new exams with cost of more than $300. Don't be their victim. I decided to find new CS, making a call util I found the right one with just only $80.
