I am so sorry to hear that!! Well i have been waiting in Social Security office for 4 and half an hour!

i was nicely waiting, took me like forever, arrving late, thats is athe best advice, because if you get your ticket, and if your ticket is not been called, they have to looking after you even they are closed the branch. SO arrive very late!!

So i Went there, lady was helpful, and she can easily proccesing my request.

Wishing you a good luck, after havign you proof of marraige bring it back and change your name, this one what a idid forget, iam still waiting for my name to be changed.

Oh my green card status still did not moved.

::( :( Hang on guys!!! It will come pretty soon++

Definately try another office or ask for another person. I applied for my SSN before our wedding.. (day 15 after POE) The first lady said that I couldn't do it until I had EAD. I told her that it was possible. There is a page on VJ that explains it all.. I printed it out and took it with me, The lady I got went to ask her manager. He came back and took over the process and told me that she had inputted the wrong codes into the system and it was denying everything which made it look like I couldn't get a card.

After entering the right codes for the I-94 and K1 visa it all went thru. I got a confirmation letter on the day to say card had been ordered and I think with 7-10 my SSN had arrived.

Hi Guys!

Just wanted to let you know that we had the AOS interview this morning.

So it was in Newark NJ, Broad street federal building.

The appointment was at 8.45am we got there at 8.30. We had to go through security and it took at least 15 mins but the guys were very nice. They took my tweezers though :( so don't bring anything like tweezers or clippers etc.

We checked in at the 14th floor at 9am, we had to wait for 2 hours as it was freezing. They finally called my name, we got in the office with the immigration Officer Mr Rodriguez.

He first asked for IDs, then a proof that we were living in Jersey City, I didn't bring any lease or utility bills as I thought that both our names should be on the bills (only my husbands name is on the bills but we have a joint account). Also we forgot to file out the G-325A form for my husband, I thought that it was only for me, so he told us to go back to the waiting area and then came back (after verifying that we were really living in JC) with the form for us to file out.

Then we started the real interview after this huge waste of time. At first he appeared very difficult and not nice but then he was the total opposite.

He first asked my husband: "How did you meet your wife? When? Was she married before? Does she have any kids from a previous marriage?"

Then he asked me: "was your husband married before? Any kids?" Then he asked the questions that are on the I-485 form such as "did you participate in any crime blablabla..." So you just have to say no.

He asked if I had any additional paper to give him, I gave him a copy of my EAD and showed him my job offer letter. He was impressed that I got a job that fast.

And then he said it was approved :)

He was very nice and fast.

Later in the afternoon I got an update on my case saying that my green card was on "production" and then another one saying that they mailed the notice.

A little advice, always look at your partner when he/she talks :)

Hope this helps, good luck to everyone else!

So happy to be done. Check my timeline for more info on my case!

Hey guys... Sorry I've been MIA for a while but I just recently started working. I'm so happy I was able to get the job! One of my friends refered me to a clothing store and they hired me without an interview! Thank God!

Anyway, a couple of days ago I updated my address online since we moved, and then I got this email:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Initial Review

On September 4, 2014, your address was changed relating to the I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS that you filed. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

Does anyone have any idea what this means? I thought it went from acceptance to interview... Anyone have any ideas?

It means that any future notices will be sent to your new address and your status didn't change from acceptance. So just wait for the answer you're waiting for. It'll come sooner or late
