If my spouse that has a Green Card with conditions removed, flies to her country and then returns to USA what does she have to do to get back to USA? Does she just show her Green Card?

July 2010 - Married

Oct. 2010 - Filed I-130 with USCIS

Nov. 2010 - Official permission to reside in Indonesia (KITAS)

Jan. 2011 - Medical Exam and Vaccinations completed

Jan. 2011 - Cancelled I-130

Jan. 2011 - Filed DCF (Direct Consular Filing)

Jan. 2011 - I-130 Approved

Jan. 2011 - Rec. (packet 3)instructions

Jan. 2011 - Gathering Documents

Feb. 2011 - Emailed Embassy

Feb. 2011 - Interview Date Sent

APPROVED!!

POE Atlanta

Took 32 days from the filing of the petition to getting visa

LPRs don't even need to show their passport to re-enter the US, only their green card.

She will need her passport to board the plane (most airlines require this) but the green card to go through customs.

Hello! I've always shown both my green card and passport. They usually look through my passport while asking the typical questions, where did you go, what was purpose of visit, how long were you away. Then they stamp the entry in my passport and say: welcome home!

Yes you're correct. It is always both a passport and a green card needed to enter by LPRs

the Greencard work like a visa, so, all she need is passport and green card.
but, for a greencard holder, the period of time spend out of the U.S. must be less than 6 months.

would like to find a job before i die.

any general labor (i'm not asking for mayor position).

The procedure is:

* Show up at border

* Present green card to CBP

* Answer brief quiz about Harry Potter

* Be admitted

At least, that is how my most recent entry went...

Spouse-based AOS from out-of-status H-1B, May - Aug 2012

Removal of conditions, Aug - Nov 2014

Actually, when I last re-entered from Canada, the border agent said that I don't need to show my passport, only my green card. I haven't tried it yet though.

2010-01-10 : I-129F Sent

2010-02-05 : I-129F NOA1 Received

2010-04-27 : I-129F NOA2 Received

2010-05-01 : NVC Received

2010-05-10 : Consulate Received

2010-06-01 : Packet 3 Received

2010-07-16 : Packet 3 Sent (6 weeks later, so it skews the time line a bit)

2010-07-22 : Packet 3 Logged

2010-09-07 : Packet 4 Sent

2010-09-14 : Packet 4 Received

2010-10-26 : Interview Date (Approved!!!)

2010-??-?? : POE
