Your Lawyer?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Received my K1 visa, flew to the States and married my fiance(I am in the States currently)who do I contact to adjust my status? Thank you!

You get the pleasure of dealing with the USCIS again :clock: . I would also suggest you look a head to the removal of conditions (ROC) phase and how to maintain your LPR status for after you receive your GC. All information can be found within the guides here on VJ or on the USCIS website.

Good luck,

Dave

Followed the guides, we sent the USCIS all the needed info. How long it usually takes em to respond?

Forever! I sent in my I-485 in late December. Last week, we received a letter from USCIS saying that due to delays, it could take an additional 6 months to process our petition.

The good news is it only took 2.5 months for the EAD and travel document to be approved.

Same here except I filed early Nov and got my 6 month letter in Feb.

Things is my visa is ending few days from now, so what do I do?

Do you mean your I-94 is expiring? The K-1 visa was null and void when you used it to enter the US. Your status was then based off the I-94. Once you file for AOS, you will be in a new period of authorized stay.

It means your I-94 expires on April 18th. It does not matter because you already filed for AOS. Re-read what I posted above, "Once you file for AOS, you will be in a new period of authorized stay." When you receive your EAD/AP, you will be able to work and travel outside the US and re-enter while waiting for the green card approval.
