You're right that's what is the best thing to say because he is actually a GOOD FRIEND of mine. And now that we have never met in person yet it's better to stick with the "good friend" expression instead of suggesting in any way that we have serious intentions with each other in future :)

I visited my (now) husband 3 times. I was never specifically asked if I was visiting a "boyfriend" or a "Fiancé" or anyone "special" so I never disclosed that information. I said I was visiting a friend. Which was true. We grew up in England together as kids, and my husband moved to America when he was 15. I told them each time I visited that he was a "childhood friend". They never questioned me further.

You can not be certain of their gender, plenty of examples of that.

In fairness, we can't be certain she can't be certain. Webcam!

2. He has to be your boyfriend/fiance to qualify for the K1, he can't be a "friend" it's a fiance(e) visa.

Wrong.....you both only need to submit signed Letters of Intent to marry within 90 days of arrival in the US.

There is no need for titles of anything else at this time.....that being said the intention of the K-1 is to become married and stay that way while permanently residing in the US.

I'd only say the truth, that you're on your way yo visit your boyfriend.

My now husband and I have visited back and forth quite often, and as long as you don't act nervous, be polite, and answer the questions they ask truthfully... you will be just fine. The first time he came to see me, he said he was coming here to meet up with a friend he had met online and they let him on through without any issues or extra security. They usually don't pry at that point. Now after we went back and forth a few times, he was asked once why he was making so many trips back and forth after we were married. He just told them he missed his wife, and they again let him come through without further questions. I would have to agree that meeting someone in person is a lot different than being online. Especially going into this long and hard process. It will be stressful and sometimes bring you to your breaking point. However, if you are both truly in love you can do it. This site is amazing when it comes to support and information. Everyone has of course mentioned lots of pictures. This is important for documentation purposes, and it's also great to save memories as you two have developed a relationship together. I am so happy for you guys to have the chance of meeting in person. I wish you the best of luck! Cheers!

Being that friend, boy friend and fiancee is not a legal status does it really matter which one you chose to use. It's just a vague definition of a status you assign to yourself with no bearing on the K-1 petition you filed.

You can compare it to the fact that 1 in 200 pregnant women in the US say they are still virgins. It's just as vague.

If they don't ask you anything don't say anything. If they ask simply answer the question truthfully; don't expand on your answer from the original question. That's it.

Absolutely
