Hey guys, I recently got married this past January 15th and my husband and I co-file and sent all our paperwork on February 28th. I just received my biometrics appointment notice and was wondering if he had to come with me. He works during the week and it's roughly 4 hours drive and if he does not have to be present, I could just go on my own and he would not have to miss work. Let me know!

Here's my timeline for anyone interested.

Meet: June 1st, 2013

Married: January 15th, 2014

Co-Filed I-130, I-485, I-765: February,29th, 2014

NOA1: March 8th, 2014

Biometrics Appointment Letter Received (NOA2): March 13th, 2014

Biometrics App Scheduled: April 4th, 2014

I-130: Initial Review

I-485: Initial Review

Feb 17th 2014 Received NOA1 x 3 NOA1 date 5th Feb 2014
Feb 22nd 2014 Received biometrics appointment for 7th March 2014 at 3pm
Feb 27th 2014 Did early walk in for Biometrics successfully
March 17th 2014 Received text & email with interview date on 22nd April 2014
March 18th 2014 Received interview letter in post with time & place, 2.15pm at Mt Laurel NJ
April 16th 2014 Received EAD card
April 22nd 2014 Had AOS interview at Mt Laurel NJ APPROVED
April 22nd 2014 Text & email Case Status: Card / Document Production
April 26th 2014 Received my Green Card today

March 28th did early walk in for biometrics 

October 10th received Citizenship Interview letter

November 13th Citizenship Interview at 10 am Mount Laurel NJ passed my interview.

November 13th Oath ceremony 3pm now a citizen

November 14th applied for my passport 

November 25th Received my passport 

November 27th Received my naturalization certificate back

November 28th Updated my social security records

I went by myself. Its not a big thing to give ur fingerprints and a photo taken. I'm not sure if he can get in ONLY if u need him for translation.

Spouse is absolutely not needed for biometrics. I did go along with my husband (because I'm his transportation), and I was wondering whether they'd let me in. They did, no questions asked -- I just sat there with him in the waiting area, then continued sitting when his name was called and he did his photo/fingerprinting. No one ever said a word to me at all -- it was all his stuff, but no one prevented me from tagging along.

Relationship since April 2006

K-1 Visa: I-129F filed November 6, 2012, NOA2 May 17, 2013, Interview and Approval July 24, 2013

POE San Diego, September 13, 2013, Wedding October 25, 2013

AOS filed November 19, 2013, EAD/AP received January 30, 2014, interview and AOS Approval on February 27, 2014.

ROC filed December 3, 2015, NOA1 12/4/15, Biometrics 12/31/15, ROC Approval on June 16, 2016, 10-Year Green Card received June 22, 2016.

N400 filed September 14, 2023, same day acceptance and Biometric Reuse notice, Interview on 2/13/24: Passed and same day oath. ALL DONE WITH USCIS.

No RFE at any stage, thanks to VisaJourney!

I don't think he would even be allowed in unless he was acting as a translator.

The USC spouse can go in. They just need ID. I always went with my husband, and waited in the waiting room when he was called back for his fingerprinting.
