Hi Experts,

My wife is USA citizenship & she processed for CR1 visa. She had filed I-130 last 21st of February & she got receipt no. but that receipt no. does not show any information on USCIS site. When she called to customer care no one giving the proper answer for the same.I have some other queries regarding for same.

1.In CR-1 visa , is it require to apply for i-485 like k3 or k1 visa.

2. The I-864 or I-134 is applicable for the Affidavit of Support.

Regards,

Vinay

USCIS won't give that information because the Affidavit of Support part doesn't happen at USCIS, it happens with the Department of State at the National Visa Center after the I-130 is approved. Your USCIS case status online will only tell you one of those four or five things: Initial Review, RFE, RFE Response Review, Decision Activity or Post Decision Activity. There will not be very specific information online.

When you say that she applied last 21 of February, does that mean in 2014 or 2013? If it's 2013, that's an awfully long time, but if it's 2014, then there's still a lot more waiting to happen before that thing is processed!

I-485 is not required.

I-864 will be filled along with supporting documents by petitioner. This form will be filled at NVC stage once your case is approved by USCIS.

I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.

For all you know, USCIS has not updated their website. I did encounter this way back too, so I can assure you that it's just a matter of time before you'll be able to see the required info on the website.

Unfortunately, that's true. I had that problem when I first petitioned my husband in 2012. I suggest you just sign up for case status updates online and then you'll get notified the minute something changes. Checking daily may just cause more stress. I think I checked once or twice when I first filed and then let it go. I got an email saying it was approved, and that's when I went back to check.

I also limited myself to checking/calling NVC once every two weeks after sending all the stuff in... it's too easy to drive yourself nuts over this stuff!

True.. Checking it gazillion times in a day just makes me feel it is taking forever.. Maybe youre right i should just limit it & let go for now.. This waiting game just feels like torture to us just wanting to be with our loved ones..

Oh ok. Thanks because I am already worried that why until now we don't have any email yet. So, we will have to wait 5 working days for email and 1 week for NOA1 hard copy?

If you filled g-1145, you will get email notification. Took 5 days for me, cant really say anything about timing with government. If you know its there by mailing confirmation or when they cash your check, it should be on its way. wait a week for email confirmation before you start calling.

Ok. Thanks. Yeah, my husband sent that form together with the other forms. When I tracked it online it says delivered and signature of the person on tuesday, 3/11/2014. I just hope that we get an email soon. Maybe the cashing of checks takes days eh?
