Delta told her that she has to go back to the embassy for him to be clearedas a first time traveler with the US passport. is this true? we miss the flight for Tuesday March 4th and will be missing the flight for March 5th

Isn't the CFO seminar a requiremen needs to go? If it's a requirement she cannot enter the US until she has completed the seminar.

yes it is required we fix that this morning at 630 but now Delta is telling her that my son needs to go the u s embassy to be cleared for travel since he is a first time traveler on his US passport. CRBA. is this true?

Note: If your child is in the PI with only CRBA/US passport, you need to make sure you get your child his/her PI passport if you do not your looking at costly fees from the BI (Philippine Bureau of Immigration) exit permit and or late fees, when the child exits the Philippines. One plus is with both US and PI passport your child will have Dual Citizenship, with out hassle of paper work/fees down the road.

Still seems to be something specific to the Philippines, but I can move your post to the CRBA forum instead, if you like. Just let me know.

CFO is NOT part of the visa process so the embassy has nothing to do with it.

CFO is a Philippines requirement for ALL of those immigrating to attend.

There is information on CFO in my link below.

As for your son, a USC, yes you need to complete the CRBA (Consulate Report of Birth Abroad) process and get a U.S. passport for him. This can take weeks or even months.

.. nope, that is not the case ... CFO is just bureaucracy in the Philippines but is not required by the US ... you can leave Philippines without CFO by traveling through a country that does not require visa for PI citizens ... for example Thailand since no CFO is required to go there ... and then boarding a flight to the US from BKK. For the child ... if he has a US passport, no need to go backl to the Embassy, but she needs to go to the Philippine Immigration and get clearance to leave

That is totally untrue! And for sure very bad advice.

If you have a U.S. immigrant visa (k-1 is viewed as an immigrant visa) in your passport, NO MATTER where you are traveling to outside the Philippines, when exiting the Philippines you will need the CFO sticker.

Serious? Your fiancee left the Philippines with her visa and no CFO, flew to (your example) Thailand, then had another separate flight to the USA?

No the case for the child, i did travel with my son last August a first time traveller just with his US passport, no officer even asked for his CRBA.

CRBA is consulate report of birth abroad, this is how the baby acquires the U.S. passport, unless not born aboard ;)

If your son has his U.S. passport there are no issues with traveling. The Philippines will want to charge an exit fee but that is another story and the fee is about Php 810, you can get an exemption for this
