Here is a question similar to the one I am going to ask about:

I am filing out this form for my mother and this is her story: Living here in US (came here illegally), applied to become permanent US resident via spouse who was permanent resident and received a packet by mail telling her to leave and go to US embassy in her country. In her country she took medical exams and results were given sealed which she handed over to US embassy in her country. There she was asked questions (guess this counts as an interview). Was asked to return at a later date. When that date came she was handed a manilla folder (told not to open) and congrats here is your visa. Flew back to LAX and handed that envelope here upon entering US and passport was stamped with temp visa and that her green card would arrive in mail.

My questions: For form i-90 part 3 question 3. Location where you applied for an immigrant visa or adjustment of status. Is that here in LA where she applied for permanent US resident via spouse (which would count as adjustment of status since she was already here right?) or her country where she was told to go back to by immigration?

Question 4 would then depend on question 3 response: Location where immigrant visa was issued or USICS office where adjustment of status was granted: is this her country or Los Angeles?

I guess it all boils down to based on above story was she granted adjustment of status or is considered to have entered US with immigrant visa?

Thanks for your responses

hi

is she renewing her 10 year GC? or why does she need to file the i90?

she had her interview in her country

she didn't adjust status here, she didn't get the GC here, she went to her country and had her interview over there

Posted

Yeah, the GC will arrive by itself. No need to file I-90...

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

yes this is her second time I believe renewing GC as she has the old kind that expired years ago and now has the new kind with some holographic stuff on the back that expires in 6 months.

So question 3 and 4 are her country and 5a and 5a1 are Los Angeles right? That was her destination and port of entry was LAX

Hi I need help, is there anyone filed the form I-90? Please help me? I am currently filing the form I-90 and don't know what to write on the question number 3 & 4, part 3. Location where you applied the adjustment of status.

Should i write the PO box address only or do I need to write all the address including the USCIS Chicago lockbox ?

Thank you in advance! :)

Hey guys so I petitioned for my husband and he's here yay!!! So we never got his green card and we called USCIS and they said that they delivered it and but we never got it so they unfortunately told us that we have to file an I90 form, ok so here are my questions for the form, on part 1 number 11 Class of admission? He didn't get his permanent residence card, so should I leave it blank? For part 12 Date of admission, would that be the day he entered the US? For part 2 numbers 1a through 1c, my husband needed to receive a 2 year residency because I petitioned for him before we had a year married, so I'm not sure what exactly is his status? For part 3 number 3 location where you applied for an immigrant visa, well I petitioned him so would that be the US? For part 3 number 4 location where the immigrant visa was issued, would that be where my husband got interviewed at the us embassy in Bogota, Colombia? And for part 3 number 5 and 5a1, port of entry, should I put fort Lauderdale Hollywood international airport, but that wouldn't fit on the form and 5a1 would that be fort Lauderdale, Florida?

Thanks for your help!!
