Question about the DS160?!?

I just got our case number. Can I (petitioner) fill out the DS160 online or does it have to come from my fiance (beneficiary)?

I filled up my fiancé's DS160 online, when am finished, I made him look at it to see if there are some errors, if none, then he signs it electronically..

It's okay if you fill it up BUT make sure that your beneficiary is the one who will press the SIGN button electronically.. Or you can fill it up and sign it yourself and put ur name there as third party who filed it (that is, if the beneficiary can't read or has no computer, etc...)

Yes.. both of you can access it.. coz it will require you to make password and all so you can return to ur saved work.. just make sure you save it everytime.. and once you start working on it, you only have 30 days to finish it and submit it or else it's gonna get erased and you need to fill one up again..

My fiance doesn't have a computer, could I fill it out with him on the phone ? And sign it with his approval?

am not sure though.. Please read below..

"If an applicant is illiterate or unable to complete the application, the applicant must be assisted by a third party. The third party must be identified on the “Sign and Submit” page of the application. While the third party can assist the applicant in completing the application, he or she must instruct the applicant on how to endorse the application on his or her own behalf by clicking the “Sign Application” button.

If the applicant is under the age of 16 or physically incapable of completing an application, the applicant’s parents or guardian may complete and click the “Sign Application” button on his or her behalf. If the applicant has no parent or legal guardian, then the application may be completed by any person having legal custody of, or a legitimate interest in, the applicant."

Yes you can complete it, but the beneficiary has to "sign" it.

Other people can assist you with your visa application. Note that under U.S. law (22 C.F.R. 41.103) you must electronically sign and submit your own application unless you qualify for an exemption. Even if someone else helped you complete the application, you (the applicant) must click the “Sign Application” button, or your application may not be accepted.

There will be security questions to access the form later, that is all your fiance will need to review and sign the form

one more question about the Ds-160…do you need to pay the fee as well? My fiancé filed a ds-160 for her tourist visa and she had to pay in order to complete the process.

Visa fee payment requirements vary from Embassy to Embassy, from all that I have read. Each person has to check the guidelines for their own Embassy, or ask in the regional forums as other members from the same Embassy will know the best answer.

After interview I got my Ds160 confirmation back. Did you guys also got it back? I am worried because now I am AP after two days interview and I am scared that it might be a reason...
