I am married to a foreign national residing in her home country and want to bring her to the US. I am unemployed now and do not meet the financial requirements for visa. My father has a low income, is retired and no longer required to file tax returns. My mother soon will have money/assets close to the required "5 times the poverty level" needed for co/joint sponsors. So My question is which would be best option to obtain a spouse visa: 1. Mother joint sponsor with me. 2 Mother and father co sponsor with me.

Open to any other ideas/options I have not thought to. Thank you

Since your mother meets the requirements in regards to the 5 times the poverty levell in the form of assets, why confuse it and add your father ? I would simply add her as a co sponsor. Wish you the best:)

The other thing you need to stop and consider is even though there is a minimum income requirement, (which you're not meeting) you both need to consider what life will be like living in a low income/little to no savings situation. It's not just a she moves there and you just spend a small percentage more in food and bills. My fiancee just got here about 2 1/2 days ago and we've already spend close to $700 since. That's not even considering all the stuff we needed that we've been given, new couch and chair, dining table and chairs, kitchen island, TV, brand new bed.

Which your mother as a co-sponsor is probably the best answer, I would work on improving your income in when it comes to long term viability.
