Hubby's interview is in 3 weeks!! I only saved two boarding passes and this upcoming trip will make 14 trips to Jamaica to visit him. I want to be able to prove this sufficiently because i think it is a strong point for our case. I printed out all my flight itineraries and some hotel receipts and I have 50 photos of us. Should I also hand over my original passport to my hubby at the interview to show the CO? Or are photocopies of my stamps (excluding the last one) enough?

Also, someone said they will not accept tax returns but only tax transcripts. What's the difference? I never heard of this.

Sorry just getting VERY anxious here and am worrying about everything.

Don't send your original passport. Send photo copies of arrival and departure stamps and boarding passes. 14 trips are enough to prove relationship.

They will accept tax returns or tax transcript. Tax return is your 1040 form +w2 form.

I don't have boarding passes (only two). The closest I could get were printed online flight itineraries.

WOW my name in big lights. LOL

Write a relationship timeline and have that ready with your evidence you mentioned. Tax transcripts proves you did you taxes a Tax form can be printed off of turbo tax after you fill it all out and never filed. I know Lagos wants that and saves alot of issues.

At this point its really already decided but have the evidence at the ready just in case. 14 visits should really be all laid out in a relatiosnhip timeline so they could have seen the progress of the relationship through the years. If they need to see plane tickets and such for confirmation they would ask.

Photocopy of your stamped passport is good enough. You don't want to push the point "what you don't believe me". just have hubby go be confident don't be rattled no matter what if he doesn't know say so he will be fine.

Itineraies mean nothing. Anyone can make those. If you don't have boarding passes you stamps in passport will do.

But I am sure at this point it really doesn't matter.

Hopefully your casefile is full of bonafide evidence to show a relationship.Pictures, letters, cards calls, emails that stuff should all be there and the interview is just a formality.

They have or should have what they need to render a decision.

OK I never thought of putting a timeline together. You mean something that captures when we met, when he proposed, when we married, etc- I am guessing. and I can include the length of stay for all my trips- cuz one of them was 3 1/2 weeks.

Thanks D- I knew I could count on you!!

Not true for every embassy. As we always say even for NVC. Transcripts are best no matter what leaves doubt out.

Here teh sample I always post on here. This way it pulls out all the things you have in evidence and at a glance and really thats what you want them to see the meat and potatoes of it all.

RELATIONSHIP TIMELINE

Minnie Mouse– Petitioner Mickey Mouse - Beneficiary

  • May, 2008 – Meet (put in names here) on the telephone via an introduction by my close friend, Goofy,
  • August, 2008 – Started e-mailing, chatting on Yahoo Messenger and talking on the telephone.
  • November, 2008 – Relationship progressing to a serious level. Made trip #1 to Osaka, Japan. Met his family and friends.
  • January, 2009 – Mickey proposed marriage over the phone. I accepted. We are officially engaged!
  • February, 2009 – I file an I-129F fiancé petition for Mickey in the U.S. on a K1 Visa. I have kids from my first marriage and we thought it would be considerate to have them meet Mickey prior to marriage and be present at their mother’s wedding, therefore, petitioning for the K1 and not the K3 or CR-1.
  • February, 2009 – Trip #2 to Osaka, Japan. Our engagement party!
  • May 2009 – I-129F petition approved by the USCIS.
  • July 2009 – Mickey’s interview at the U.S. Consulate in Osaka, Japan. Request made by CO for more photos and e-mails.
  • August, 2009 – 2nd interview at the U.S. Consulate in Osaka, Japan. Present many more e-mails phone records and photos documenting our relationship. Mickey’s visa application placed in Administrative Processing status.
  • September, 2009 – Trip #3 to Osaka, Japan. Sweet reunion.
  • November, 2009 – Request assistance from my Congresswoman – Carolyn McCarthy - to make inquiries on my behalf to the U.S. Consulate in Osaka, Japan regarding Mickey’s lengthy AP.
  • December, 2009 – Case remains under Administrative Processing status.
  • January, 2010 – I make a request of the U.S. Consulate in Osaka, Japan to meet with the investigator handling our case in hopes of expediting the lengthy AP period. Request granted.
  • February 8, 2010 – Fraud investigators from the U.S. Consulate in Osaka, Japan pay a visit to Mickey’s parents house. His parents confirm that our relationship is genuine and that they support it.
  • February 16, 2010 – Trip #4 to Osaka, Japan. Meet with fraud investigators at U.S. Consulate in Osaka, Japan. We are both interviewed separately and asked many questions pertaining to the details of our relationship. We believe all went well.
  • March 2, 2010 – Mickey called to return to the U.S. Consulate in Osaka, Japan on March 23rd (after almost 8 months of Administrative Processing).
  • March 23, 2010 – Mickey’s visa application is denied. Reason for denial: Investigator did not believe I was committed to marrying Mickey within 90 days of his arrival in the States on the K1 visa. Why? Because at the Feb. 16th interview with the investigator, I stated that I filed a fiancé petition instead of a marriage petition so that my kids could meet him first before we get married and be in attendance at our wedding. Investigator interpreted my words to mean that I needed to “understudy” my fiancé and that I wasn’t sure about marrying my fiancé.
  • April, 2010 – Attempt to overturn denial while case still at the Consulate: Letter sent from my attorney – Marc Ellis – to the U.S. Consulate in Osaka, Japan along with affidavits from friends and family attesting to the fact that my intention was always to marry Mickey as soon as he arrived here on the K1. Attorney letter and affidavits never acknowledged by Consulate.
  • April/May, 2010 – Plan our wedding.
  • May 29, 2010 – Trip #5 to Osaka, Japan.
  • June 1, 2010 - Get married!!!!!
  • June, 2010 – Upon my return to the U.S., file an I-130 petition for my husband to come join me in the U.S. on a CR-1 visa.

I, Minnie Mouse, declare under penalty of perjury that the above facts and the above timeline between my husband and me are true and correct.

Hubby's interview is in 3 weeks!!

1. I only saved two boarding passes and this upcoming trip will make 14 trips to Jamaica to visit him. I want to be able to prove this sufficiently because i think it is a strong point for our case.

2. I printed out all my flight itineraries and some hotel receipts and I have 50 photos of us.

3. Should I also hand over my original passport to my hubby at the interview to show the CO? Or are photocopies of my stamps (excluding the last one) enough?

4. Also, someone said they will not accept tax returns but only tax transcripts. What's the difference? I never heard of this.

Sorry just getting VERY anxious here and am worrying about everything.

BethAnn

BethAnn ! Hey There, Lass - what's a crack-a-lackin ?

For today, your homework is to review the I-130 and the I-130 instructions, and go over the 6 types of bonafide marriage evidence, and refactor stuff.

Answers to yer questions:

1. Receipts of Ticket Purchases. Get Those, or Credit Card Statements.

2. Cool. Got any bag tags?

3. You've 14 trips. Prove the 14 trips however, whatever means available to you.

4. Beats Me - I not follow Jamaica at all. However - walk into the IRS office close to you, on Thursday, and ask for the tax transcripts for the last 3 years. You'll be given them, within 30 minutes.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Thanks so much guys!! Much love to you both!! Sorry not to get all mushy and stuff...

One more thing if you dont mind... Okay actually two. My husband's name is spelled one way O'mar on his passport and birth certificate and on interview letter but another way Omar on marriage certificate and police record and on Noa2. Do you forsee a problem with this?

Finally I changed my address on the USCIS website after case was received at NVC and DOS says they have the new address on record now. Does this mean the embassy has the right information as well or do I need to contact someone else about this?

Thanks again guys. You are the best.

The embassy could care less about your address. They and the POE go by your DS-230 now the DS-260. So no you don't have to contact anyone else. Once you leave USCIS no more contact you contacted NVC thats all you need to do. Or some have had to just take an updated DS-230 to interview.

As far as name have your husband just bring to their attention at interview to make sure its all correct so it matches the passport. Cuz thats what the Visa than later green card will be typed out to.

And you are most welcome. Please don't get mushy. hehe.

Handing one's passport to the beneficiary to show to the CO is probably the biggest way to score the most positive points possible. Depending on the situation, you might even be invited into the interview.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
