I read some uses a PENCIL to sign( G-325A/photo,intent letter)...some SUGGESTED to use a BLUE BALL PEN...

i know it's not a big deal for some and I may sound DUHH but just would like to ask which one is more often suggested to use.

I signed all my forms using blue ink. I read some VJers here signed with black ink and they got an RFE because probably adjudicators think it is scanned ones even though they sent the originals.

I use blue ink to sign forms (to make it easier to distinguish originals from copies). However, on the back of passport type photos that were submitted with the I129 I wrote our names in pencil (if I remember correctly there was something in the USCIS filing instructions about this, using a pencil or something else). Good luck

i signed with black pen (as far as it was said in the instruction to I-129F form it is clearly said: Type or print legibly in black ink)...but you decide, do not think it's so important black or blue as far as signed originals are easy to destiguish if to compare with the scanned document....(i say cos i work with lots of docs and signing and scanning).

Yes, it is written on there. But it is also type or print. In my humble opinion it refers to all information you have to put into the forms. My fiance and I signed my G-325A and letter intent of marry with blue ink and we were approved.

well, i am sorry but i am not arguing, and for sure i am new over here and for sure not that experienced as you are.....i just said what i read and what i think. not more nor less....and again it is my opinion as of a person that works a lot with documents (as for how to see if it's scanned or not). any way i agree with Jay-Kay who basically said same as i did:

plus pencil is not for signing of official documents for sure.......

You can also just put your papers on top of a softer surface such as a magazine and sign on top of that. It will create the indent in the paper where you sign, showing it is not a copy. I can make a color copy of something I signed with blue ink and the ink color still shows blue, so not sure why blue ink would be definitive proof that it is not a copy.

i'm sure the uscis has ways to see if the paper is scanned or not and if the signature is forgery
