I have emailed my Embassy with the same question, and they replied that I can be with my husband during the interview since I'm the petitioner. I am planning to print this reply and bring with us to the interview if any questions arise from the security stuff.

Call them or email to be sure - it might be Embassy dependent matter.

I attended the interview with my husband, I am the petitioner, and I was interviewed as well. Each consulate has it rules as far as the petitioner attending or not. Best thing to so is to contact the consulate visa email to inquire.

Is it possible for the petitioner to join with his/her principal applicant during interview?

I think that this is allowed in the Philippines.

IMHO, not attending, especially when the opportunity exists is not advisable.

Though while not the Philippines but the interviewer reacted positively when she learned that I the petitioner was outside the embassy waiting. She spent time going through both my passports to verify the fact and was all smiles.

No not allowed per see BUT you can wait outside the embassy and give your passports to your beneficiary to show the CO that you are outside. It will also give your beneficiary a big emotional support.

Again, this was partly crucial to our approval in my opinion. The demeanor of the interviewer changed from that point onward, according to my Wife.

United has $940 round trip tickets through April so you might be lucky on the dates.

Good luck.
