USCIS Giving Priority to Permanent Resident I-130 petitioners??

I've read this several times on VJ. Does anyone know if there's any validity to the rumor that the USCIS is giving precedent to I-130s filed by Permanent Residents, rather than citizens? Have you either heard it from the USCIS or in the news somewhere? Just curious if this is true and whether people have heard or read anything about it. If it is, I'd be extremely upset.

Not really. I waited more than a year for my i-130 (F2A) to be approved.

But these days, i-130 filed by LPRs has been approved quite quickly. Fastest I've encountered here on VJ is 20 days. But majority are still waiting too.

No, you are confused. You should get off VJ because all of your searching is causing you to believe crazy things and you can't tell they aren't true because you are new.

F2A is "current" right now, but all that means is that a visa number is immediately available. The case and processing is not immediate, it's just jargon. A F2A will still take a year and an F2A case is not prioritized over a citizen's. For now, a F2A works similar to a citizen's, but already next month it will no longer be like that.

Wow, that was nice. I was just inquiring as I've actually heard people say this in several threads. All I did was ask. I didn't say I believed it....my goodness.

I think I'm just going to shutup and not post anymore. I thought VJ was here to help people become informed, which is what I was trying to do, but never mind then.

Do you always go around VJ following people and telling them they need professional help or should get off of the forum? Quite rude.

Yeah a couple of people were snarky to me here and I almost left. But I stayed around to help people who need help and don't know what to do. One person even got snarky with me because I was helping out a very confused VJer and suggested to the VJer to get a lawyer and he thought his advice was better even though it kept confusing the person who was new. Sigh.

In any case, to answer your question, right now they do have the same processing times, roughly. That will soon change. It seems like I-130 IR1 and CR1 filers are getting the short end of the stick because it seems everyone else is getting approved faster! Hey, what gives?!
