Hi, my fiance is still waiting for his passport. I cannot schedule the interview at the Cuban consulate without it. The interview dates are already in December and my noa2 expires in december. Does anyone know what I should do if my interview date is after the noa2 date?

My understanding is that you have until the time your noa2 expires to communicate with the embassy and send in packet 3. I know loss of people's whose interview date was after noa2 expiration, and they had no problem. Remember noa2 comes from USCIS, but you aren't dealing with USCIS, you are dealing with the department of state

The petition approval can be extended. Usually automatically, but you can contact the consulate to ask them to extend it to make sure it gets done,

Welcome to VisaJourney! Atop every VJ page is a link for "Embassy Info." Click that, pick your country (Cuba), and look for the information that you need.

When you click the "Forums" link above, and scroll down, you'll find the "Regional" forums. Cuba is discussed in the "Caribbean" forum. You can read and search for threads there.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

If they've accepted your appointment for Nov. 15, they've already automatically extended the petition's validity.
