The NOA1 of the I-751 is the one-year extension of the green card? Once you receive the NOA1 you can travel outside the country, even if your two-year has expired and your I-751 application is still pending?

Yes, that's right. The first sentence says "Your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year."

If you travel abroad you must carry the expired green card and the original NOA1.

Well, fortunately, we received the Biometrics letter a week and a half ago (dated 9/23/13) and about 3 weeks after submitted I-751 form. We were able to do a walk-in. We submitted to VSC but our check was cashed at the CSC.

Now the waiting begins. Good luck, everyone.

Online update says my case was transferred to local office today. I haven't done my biometrics yet. Is it normal they transferred it before biometrics is taken?

My wife's case was transferred to our local office on the 11th as well and it is before her biometrics. I don't know if it's "normal" but it happened to her also. Her biometrics appt is scheduled for 10/24 but she's going to try a walk-in later this week because I have a doctor appt on 10/24 and it's only an hour before her biometrics appt time and she has to go with me because she might have to drive me home...

I sent I-751 on September 19. received NOA1 on October 8.

Failed at VSC. NOA1 says

"Case Type" CRI89 APPROVED REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS (I89).

"NOTICE TYPE" TRANSFER NOTICE

they transfered me to CSC.

my BIO is on OCT 24th.

why it says approved? I dont get it. does it means that the application has been approved or that the case has been approved?

That sounds like a glitch (an error), especially since you haven't done your biometrics yet. Have you tried checking your status online here http://www.uscis.gov? Enter your biometrics letter Case Number in the upper left side where it says "Case Status"

We got the same thing. I think someone had posted a link somewhere to a USCIS page stating the wording is misleading.

FYI - VSC to CSC applicants transferred around 8/22/13 are getting their approvals - mostly June applicants. Getting transferred to CSC is a good thing.

USA

01/08/13 - Approved and GC is order for production on 1/8/14

09/12/13 - Case transferred to CSC. NOA2 received on 09/18/13

08/30/13 - Biometrics Done - No walk ins allowed at this LSC (received on 8/16/13).

08/05/13 - NOA1 (received on 08/10/13)

08/01/13 - Mailed I-751 (received on 8/2/13 - check cashed on 8/5/13)

12/28/11 - Received SSN (applied on 12/20/11, as we didn't get based on DS-230 options)
11/28/11 - Received Green Card (Expires on 10/30/13) - Welcome Letter on 11/17/11
10/30/11 - POE - Houston, TX

Chennai Consulate (40 days)
10/28/11 - Received Visa papers and Passport at VFS
10/25/11 - Interview Cleared Successfully (Spouse was not allowed in)

NVC: (90 days from NOA2 to Consulate)
08/31/11 - Case Completed (Interview 10/25/11) - Received at Chennai on 09/19/11
07/22/11 - NVC Case Number

USCIS: (92 days)

6/21/11 - NOA2 (NOA1 on 3/25/11) - took a month to get to NVC
3/21/11 - I-130 sent to USCIS Lockbox, Chicago.
