10/31/2016: Early Biometric Done (Walk-In)

12/06/2016: In Line for Interview

04/20/2016: Online Status Changed to "Interview was Scheduled" 

05/25/2017: Interview Date- Approved!

06/01/2017: Reply to RFE (N-14) Sent

09/20/2017: Email from Ombudsman confirming that they got in touch with USCIS, advised to wait 60 days.

09/22/2017: Request to find out about the case to Senator, acknowledged the receipt of inquiry.

10/02/2017: Ombudsman’s office notified that USCIS made a decision on the case and I will be informed by USCIS within 30 days.

10/02/2017: Talked with a Tier-2 officer and he informed my case was in line for oath since September 22nd, 2017.

10/10/2017: Online status changed to “Inline for Oath ceremony”

10/14/2017: Online status changed to “Oath Ceremony Letter Mailed”

11/03/2017: OATH CEREMONY!

Until Visa is issued everyone is in AP. Its just a formality. What is the normal time frame for Visa issue a week or so? Don't worry they said approved at interview you are cool.

Dwheels,

I am preparing for my interview but I have a question relating to my 2012 tax return. I filled as single because we encountered a lot of challenges relating to what we need (passport endorsement, ITIN, etc), and the IRS said it could take 4-6 months before our return will be accepted because we have to mail it to them. We were ready for the NVC stage, and didn’t want any delay at all. As a result, I filled a separate tax return as “single.” I pray this will not come up at the interview but if it does, the above is what I plan to explain to the CO.

I am wondering if you have any other suggestions to help make my answer more convincing.

You need to FIX this ASAP!!!! You filed your tax return incorrectly. You should have done MFS and written NRA in the SSN spot. It wouldn't take 4-6 months as a lot of people on this board did their taxes that way. My husband filed a tax extension which was also an option for you.

Whether or not it will be an issue for your right now, I don't know. But you need to amend your taxes.

You need to FIX this ASAP!!!! You filed your tax return incorrectly. You should have done MFS and written NRA in the SSN spot. It wouldn't take 4-6 months as a lot of people on this board did their taxes that way. My husband filed a tax extension which was also an option for you.

Whether or not it will be an issue for your right now, I don't know. But you need to amend your taxes.

There is nothing wrong with what i did. I just confirmed with IRS and a few friends that have completed the journey in the last few months. IRS actually recommended this method. Of course, i will file and amendment once she gets here but i am now very certain that this is not a problem at all.

I am gutted, so many filed and got interviews. i filed in January and all it still says is at NVC. and from what i can read on interviews barely any in UK are getting them. so gutted it is unreal . :(

So how do we find our interview date? Is it from calling them or is this the one situation in the process where you wait for them to send out an email?

There's no finding anything. Yes you wait. usually on the thread when we hear someone getting interview we start calling NVC. the P4 (interview email) usually comes within 24 to 48 hours. So call or wait.

What is your case complete date dear so you can be added. thanks

There is nothing wrong with what i did. I just confirmed with IRS and a few friends that have completed the journey in the last few months. IRS actually recommended this method. Of course, i will file and amendment once she gets here but i am now very certain that this is not a problem at all.

Don't be so sure. What you did is absolutely wrong. You can not file as single if you are married ! Never, ever ! Are you to believe some IRS clerk and bet your future on it ? NLR is absolutely correct.

You told 1 branch of the US government (IRS) that you are single, at the same time you are telling another branch of the US government (USCIS) that you are married ! Does that make any sense to you ?

Friends are full of stories of how they cheated on their taxes and how they snowed the USCIS....but to you want to bet your future on it ?

Amend your return to "married filing separately" immediately.

Hi guys !! I have a doubt, i have my interview next week, im confused about ds-260 should i fill out ds-260 for my interview?

No just go by your checklist. All that new DS-260 is for people still going through NVC. Don't mess yourself up now and get mixed up with their chaos.

Case Complete to Interview spreadsheet

From now on your VJ Member name will be verified. If the name you put on form to be added to spreadsheet comes up not found, you will not be added to the spreadsheet. If you don't have a timeline you will not be added to the spreadsheet.

3/31/2020: submitted service request for being pass normal processing time
4/7/2020: Card being produced
4/8/2020: Approved
4/10/2020: Card mailed
4/15/2020: 10 year green card received
