Update: I asked all five couples and, amazingly, none of them knew the answer. Strange, isn't it?

But don't worry, Jay-Kay should be along shortly to help you out. You remember Jay-Kay, correct?

You have a way of pissing off folks who try to help you, but when you don't like they (accurate and honest) answers they give you, you just argue with and try to demean their efforts. How much help do you really expect to get, when you know better than the people who have already completed the process you are trying to accomplish before you?

Since you seem to really desire to be spoon fed, read Part 7, #10 on page 7 of 13.

That's what can happen when folks intentionally disrespect and disregard others. Bridges are burned.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Wow... english MUST really not be your 1st language because that was not exactly 100% correct grammar -- by a longshot! But anyway I will use the 160 I.Q. intelligence I possess to try to decipher what the hell you were really trying to say.

First of all, Roxy, if you have a problem with me send me a private message! DO NOT post something irrelevant and some garbage that does not answer my query. Simply post the answer like you finally eventually did.

Secondly, at what point did I ever say I knew more then the people that completed the process? Once again, quit being assuming of things and simply answer peoples question if you KNOW the answer otherwise save the pep talk for someone who actually CARES. Got it? ranting33va.gif

Ok. I'll quit being assuming what your I.Q. intelligence is and just take your word for the 160. Sorry I tried to help. Best of luck to you.

I am not sure where you get the 5x number. Your income needs to be 125% above no0pb.gifthe poverty level for your family size.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3183.html#22

If it is a spouse it has to be 3X your assets if you do not have enough income

If it is K1 or other family members it is 5X

The difference between your income and the poverty level times the 3 or 5X.

I think that is how it works. If I am wrong I am sure someone will respond.

I don't understand what happened in this thread, but to make it simple...

If your household size is 2, you need to be making $19387 per annum.

If you have $0 income and your household size is 2, you need to have 5 x $19387 in assets. So $96939 in the bank or other assets that can be liquid within a year and accessible in the US.

If you had $10000 income, you'd need 5 x $9387 etc. to make up the short fall in assets.

Spouses are allowed to use 3x (and some lenient embassies will also accept 3x, I doubt Manilla is one given they don't accept joint-sponsors).

The numbers go up with each additional household member.

All of this information is available on the forum already with a small amount of searching.

Oh, the OP knows. He just keeps asking things to argue with people. He will ask something, get an answer he does not like or deems unworthy, and then goes off on a tangent. That is why people have stopped bothering to answer any questions he posts. Here are just a couple of the previous posts >

Hank Could you please explain why my answer was incorrect? If you refer to page 8 of the I864 instructions it say that to be a sponsor your income needs to be 125% over the poverty level.
