A man running for local office had a brilliant idea.

Tie all means tested benefits parents receive to how their kid shows up to performs in school and stays in school.

Pure Genius.

That would lead to an increase in crime and extortion . Rap lovingly, single-parent black kids would simply put a gun to the teacher's head in order to get a good grade and a perfect attendance record etc.

The guy is a publicity seeking jerk.

.. so if you have a kid with special needs- or even just one that is not terribly intelligent and doesn't make good greats despite trying and support at home...?

Unless they do not have kids.

The solution to this is as simple as the solution to illegal immigration. Require any person receiving benefits to attend school and/or work 40 hours per week and verify it each week. Nothing else really matters. The solution to the problem is to eliminate the need for welfare, the way to eliminate the need for welfare is to make it possible for people receiving welfare to hold jobs which pay more than the welfare benefits pay them. The way to do that is with education and job experience while giving them a HAND UP...not a HANDOUT.

Dems will be against this because it would end the poverty industry and result in independent people who may have investments, own property and vote Republican.

Of course adjusted for things like that. What he was trying to say is , that if you are having throw away kids just to get a check , your check gets cut off, if they drop out and roam the streets

I can see why you would like that proposal. Had they done this decades ago, you may have stood a chance to learn how to compose a correct sentence.

Yup. In Ireland they had this scheme where those on long term unemployment (more than 6 months) could volunteer to work for a registered charity for 20-30 hours a week, and get an extra bonus on top of their welfare payment. It was win-win: the unemployed got more money, and job experience/ a recent reference, and the charities got extra workers. I used to be the supervisor for 6 such part timers at a cat rescue- some were wishy-washy, but many were glad to have something to do, and get something to put on their resume.

Seems like common sense. But since it came from an EU country, it will be dismissed as something bordering on communism.

Plenty of people in Hollywood who are independent, have investments, own property and don't vote Republican.

Conciliator (The) - wei - back to post #1?

That's not an original idea. It's been posited for about 40 years now.

Maybe 50.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

So you think the real drain on society that is causing all or the majority of our woes are mothers that have more and more kids to make more and more money?

C. I have no idea idea how to respond to the overwhelming facts you presented, so I will just call you a nut job or insult you and move on, and claim I already answered the question. ( this covers the tin foil hat stupidity

If they get em 'at birth', though -
