In my case even Tier 2 didn't know that we'd been transferred to a local office, even after we'd received an RFE from the local office. Tier 2 had basically no information on our case at all. From reading other peoples' experiences, this isn't that uncommon either for transferred cases.

HOWEVER, If the petitioner is in the US the I-130 was almost certainly transferred to a local office.

it takes getting the right tier 2 on the phone as they have to get throw half a dozen screens to see if it was transferred. dcf's and filed from abroad will not go to a local office

I have had both good and bad experiences with tier 2's.. just keep trying

If they are irresponsible like this, why bother charging this much $$$. It's really frustrating that no one has any clue about what is going on.

you are right, they don't have a clue, but it IS in their system somewhere if you can get them to do the research.

you will have a much better clue than they will after reading several dozen threads that are similar to your case and matching your petition type

Has anyone ever had luck asking their local office what date they're currently processing? I know they won't give me a straight answer for how long processing takes, but wondered if approaching it from this other angle might yield a different answer.

Im a January filer and I have not been approved as of yet. I went for a infopass appointment and was told that my file has not been transferred. I dont know whats going on but they needs to get with the program!

My priority date is February 21 and I'm still waiting. It's ridiculous that married couples (and many people have children, myself included) have to wait so long. No offense to the K1 filers but shouldn't married people be given priority? USCIS needs to hire more people or work around the clock. lol. The world is getting smaller and people are meeting and falling in love so people filing petitions for loved ones isn't going to go away any time soon.

We filed my I-130 in July 2012. It has been over a year now. I live in Los Angeles. However, I am filing under the F2A (spouse of a resident) category and I am currently in the US on a H1B. Maybe that changes things?

Our priority date Was February..Each Time I call they cant give an estimate.. I dont know whether NBC is approving our case or if it will be sent to local office.. no idea what is going on at all.. just waiting in limbo...Since we didnt file our I130 along with our I485 AOS we are being to now wait approval for I130 before submitting I485.. so impatient .. going on 7 month wait right now..ClockWatch2.gif

I totally agree on this!! We basically paid a certain amount and they are not doing there job quite well...the food that is put on there table came from our money and they make us wait for a long time! That's just really ridiculous!!
