Consulate Review: Mumbai, India
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : June 9, 2014
Embassy Review : My interview was at Bombay Consulate on May 6th at 8.30am 2014. Reached at Bombay Consulate at 6.45am and there was line for people about to have interview at 7am.
I entered the main office at 7.45am, they gave me a paper telling me the format i should have all my documents arranged in. first window there was a Indian lady, who asked the DS-260 conformation page with stamp from my fingerprinting from previous day. She also asked for the latest tax return of petitioner. Then she asked me Mothers name before marriage, have you gone out of India, is this your first marriage and then she gave me a paper to read describing my rights when iam in USA.

I was called for interview at 10pm by white lady.
questions she asked me were
how many days did you spend with your husband after marriage.
Where did you go for honey moon.
where is your husband staying
where is your in laws staying
what did you like about your husband
How do you stay in contact with your husband and how often
She did not ask for additional proof.
then she asked if i have understood that flyer.
and finally she said the magic words your visa has been granted
you should have your passport back in 3-5 days from the place where you had mentioned in your finger pointing appointment.
I was out of the building by 10.30am

Hope this helps to someone
Thank You

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
