Already accomplished. Where have you been? We don't make anything in the US anymore, except hamburgers, pizza, and Mexican-like food.

What about firearms and the laws that allow you to use them

According to the ATF, nearly half of the firearms sold in the US are imported into the US. 95% of the firearms manufactured in the US, are sold in the US. Way to go team!

The liberal elite ... know that the people simply cannot be trusted; that they are incapable of just and fair self-government; that left to their own devices, their society will be racist, sexist, homophobic, and inequitable -- and the liberal elite know how to fix things. They are going to help us live the good and just life, even if they have to lie to us and force us to do it. And they detest those who stand in their way."

Please try to stay on topic.

Please avoid personal slanders and slandering whole groups. If you asked my opinion on anything else political other than this and abortion, you would call me an "extremist lib" too probably and I can assure I look at my wife as a mature, adult woman and am not a pedophile. Let's keep the slander out of the debate please.

I hate to burst your bubble, but you posted this in the Politics and Religion forum on VJ. This particular forum came into existence because people got tired of all the political and religious differences taking over the other forums here. People in OT wanted to talk about Cats or the great deal they just got a new pair of red pumps, not political or religious issues.

Alot of the time (as you have seen here) these threads disintegrate into name calling, false accusations, etc. etc. hence the reason for it's existence. P&R is the equivalent of the bad part of town. The thought being, if we legalize all the bad behavior in a bad part of town, hopefully the losers in the bad part of town will keep their bad behavior there, rather than pollute the rest of the community with it.

If I was writing the immigration bill, I would do away with the K visas. I would also put a hold on all work based visas until the unemployment numbers improve, and further put a hold on all student visas, until all Americans that want to attend college can do so.

So you would require that the petitioner marry the girl in her home country instead, despite the greater cost and time it would take?

Screw amnesty for Illegals i demand a refund not fair to the people who had to pay and wait for almost a year and all the damn paper work and proof to show to get . Send them back over the fence deportation is more easy than giving free stuff to them.

That used to drive me nuts. I'd travel to India for work. I'd ask someone a question, and I'd get the head nod in response that is half-way between yes and no. Is that a yes or a no!!??

I guess logic doesn't come into reason, because it would take Trillions of dollars to deport the millions of illegal immigrants in this country.

At least with this Immigration bill, it would put more tax dollars into our system and avoid the necessity of breaking up so mny families for mistakes their parents or grand parents made many, many years ago....

The bill already requires them to get in the back of the Immigration line and allow those who entered in the process legally to go first.....

It would almost take 13 years to gain citizenship in the Immigration bill, but some want you to believe they will get "amnesty" overnite....give me a break!!.....it's not even including all the obstacles they have to overcome to gain citizenship, pay fines/back taxes, learn English and complete background checks, etc.....

This whole immigration debate about amnesty is really quite simple....its a fear from those who are already becoming the minority in this Country and they are running scared....

I'd be all for that. That would be good for both the petitioner and the beneficiary. How can you really know someone in one trip and a bunch of Skype conversations?

If that's the case, why did all these DACA get put in line with all the legal applications?

No, the debate is more about what is going to prevent people from breaking the law in the future, when they know they will be rewarded for it later?

You're right about the last part. It's a great way to get a bunch of registered Democrats on the voting rolls.
