Thanks! I'm pretty anxious to see what the card says... we had CBP remove his middle names from the system entirely, so it should just read Firstname Lastname. Anything else and we're back in disaster recovery mode :P

So excited! You've been waiting for yours for a long time! ;)

Green card arrived today as Firstname Middleinitial Lastname. I've read on VJ that the full name (including full middle name) is printed elsewhere on the card, but I haven't seen my husband's yet so I can't speak to that. He has two middle names, and only the initial for the first one is used in the given name printed by his photo. That much seems totally normal, so bookworm, don't worry :)

I've also read here that not everyone has a middle name included on their social security card even though it appears on the green card, so I'm not expecting any issues despite the discrepancy. I'm assuming going forward we can continue to use just Firstname Lastname on all his legal documents -- e.g., driver's license -- since that's what the social is issued under. Is that correct? Or does the name have to match his green card, including middle names?

My mom's journey..

Paid GC via ELIS: 8/11

POE: 8/26

After a week from POE we went to SS office to apply for SS#.. The lady who attended us said that my kom already has a number and asked us if she went already there and applied, i explained to then that itwas her 1st time to got to the office to apply for a #.. Then her supervisor look over her file, she said it is not common but in some cases the DHS will automatically apply the immigrant for the number.. To she gave us my mom's number and went home. After a week from that we received her SS card.. As i was checking ELIS, status says my mom's GC is accepted.. Waiting for update i hope it will be soon..
