what's going on with the crazy questions?

Maybe I am just being mean and intolerant . . . I understand that people come to VJ with questions about the extremely complicated visa and immigration process. I understand that it is difficult and confusing and emotional. I understand that the USCIS website is confusing and it's hard to find clear and straight information.

But really, what is up with the crazzzzyyyy questions lately (and I'm not talking about Matako or any other troll's stupid questions).

For example (REAL questions posted on VJ):

1) I have large tonsils. Does this mean my visa will be denied?

2) What happens if I have a urinary tract infection?

3) Can a US Citizen visit their fiance in their country during the processing?

4) What does adjudicated mean? When VJ shows a date for when my case may be adjudicated, is this the date my fiance will get her visa?

5) My fiance was illegal in the US for 3 years. Why was her visa denied at her interview?

The State Department has a suprisingly well written and well organized website with all the basic information about spousal and fiance visas. It explains the process, the medical, ineligibilities, etc. This was the FIRST place I went when I starting researching this process. (http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_1315.html#3d) And then of course there are the guides here.

It's hard for me to grasp this. I realize that many people don't know to do basic research? But seriously, are they really that clueless?

OK, done now, I think.

Kit,

It is extraordinary ignorance, posted to a public forum, simple as that. Although I am relatively new here, this site is going down the tubes. I spend less time here each day.

I am still trying to hang on to help others, although it is becoming increasingly difficult.

Hell, I post in OT now, never did that before.

Bottom line, you are not intolerant, just refocused. Now you see the BS that was there before, yet magnified.

All the best to you Kit!!

I feel for you, I have been beating my head the past few days, the same questions about Affidavit of support over and over. A little research, reading the guides, and simple search of the forums will turn up the answers. :bonk:

A few from today.

"Is Income tax return is really needed for 1-864 even if i can prove that my income is beyond poverty line? I need your help guys..Thanks." Read the instructions with the damn form.

Pertaining to I-864EZ and I-864: "just curious to know the difference between the 2 forms, I'm trying to see exactly whats the big difference but I really dont see it..........." Read the instructions included with I-864EZ form, the answer is there.

"I am living in raleigh,North carolina(NC) .Pls if someone knows where to file I-751?" Read the instructions included with the form.

"I didn't ask for my ssn yet and we want to start our AOS. What is the first step? I have no idea what to do next." This one got a lot of :guides: from everyone and the poster at least got the message and replied positively.

Pertaining to I-864: "noticed in the top right hand side of this form it says " OMB no. 1615-0075; expires 09/30/06" I see this one a lot, My question in return is if the form were REALLY expired why is it still on USCIS site?

OK enough ranting from me. :ranting::lol:

Well you're (mostly) talking about people who are too lazy to read the guides or take a look through the forum. I think the people I'm talking about are lacking common sense. I suppose one could read through the ineligibilities to grasp the idea that the US is simply trying to prevent the spread of contagious disease rather than prevent large-tonsiled immigrants. But really, would one really have to read that section to know that large tonsils would not prevent them for receiving a visa? AARRRGGGHHH.

Anyway Dan, you'll see shortly that your days of answering newbie questions will come to an end - it gets much too frustrating, doesn't it?

Mags will be here in 11 days. How do I drive to CVG from Indy to pick her up? Will I have to take a drug test to enter the airport? Do I need to prove that I haven't been abducted by space aliens? How much horsepower does a Chevy Aveo have?

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

The odd questions don't bother me as much as the wrong answers.

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? *wink*

Well, now, that wasn't very nice. If I had written one of those questions I'd be embarrassed now. Sometimes people just need to be reassured of the right answer.

I would also say to you that I've happened upon multiple threads where you've given wrong advice to these people.

Easier to post and wait than search. Alot of humans are inherently lazy.

But I do agree with Alex on something, people do just want reassurance on some subjects. It can be nice to hear from people with the same experiences.

I was mean today.

I had already answered this guys question correctly in a different forum about 20 minutes before he posted it again.

Here's the question (for the second time) and my second answer.

I was granted an work authorization at POE at JFK Airport ....I know my work authorization will expire and I'll have to stop working until I get my new EAD, but if I do work now, get taxed and stop until I get a new EAD, should I worry about my AOS process? Is that something that I can do or will it ruin the whole process?

------------

No you can't work. They give you the EAD stamp so you get all confused, work illegally and then they boot you out of the country and never let you back.

Someone nice though pointed out to him that I was totally wrong. :D
