Hey guys,

My case just got to NVC and I should have a case number tomorrow. My question is with respect to using a lawyer for the visa application and upcoming items. It seems pretty straightforward, but I wanted to get some opinions.

Hey guys,

My case just got to NVC and I should have a case number tomorrow. My question is with respect to using a lawyer for the visa application and upcoming items. It seems pretty straightforward, but I wanted to get some opinions.

Lawyer or no lawyer?

Ask yourself "what can a lawyer do for you that you can't". You have to give information to lawyer to fill out the application. So why nt just save a few thousand and do it yourself.

Only you or your spoouse can get the documents needed for NVC not them. All a lawyer will do is take all YOU gather and send in. They WILL not ever call NVC which means they will wait for mail that can hold you up for months.

If you can read and use a computer my bet is on you. (Just saying)heart.gif

Pay attention and do the right stuff and you'll get through the NVC pretty quickly. Make sure you do the online forms and OPTIN for EP. Follow this guide: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_for_Montreal_Beneficiaries_%E2%80%93_Electronic_Processing_and_New_Online_Forms
