I finally got the hardcopy of the RFE in the mail....We hired an immigration attorney to handle all the paper work for us to avoid any unnecessary delays. HA! This was months before I found this forum unfortunately. Well, the RFE is for my fiancé's G-325A (the beneficiary). We did fill this form out and I took it straight to the atty. Assuming (HA) that the atty reviewed everything before the initial filing, I hoped that we wouldn't have had any delays. But, I guess the 8 years of school and the two grand I paid, didn't ensure that everything was signed properly. My fiancé had typed in his name on the signature line as opposed to signing. Yes, I should have caught it, but more so our so called advocate should have caught it.

Let this be a lesson, do not pay someone to do something when you can surely do it yourself. I am a little bit poorer today but a heck of a lot wiser.

Just reiterating was has been said a thousand times on here before, check your signatures even if an atty is hired! I learned the hard way.

Thanks for the reminder that hiring a lawyer does not necessarily mean everything will be taken care of and the case will go faster or have no delays. No one cares more about your success and getting it right than you.

I just came to that realization myself. My fiancé and I hired an immigration lawyer. We don't think our petition will move along faster because of this, it is an option that works for us (my fiancé is out of the country every 6 months for a 2 month period, and in and out of the country for up to 2 weeks at a time otherwise- so we thought a lawyer would be helpful if he wasn't in the country when things were approved. If that makes sense).

I was just reviewing the copy of our I129f as a friend of mine is just about to go through the k1 process herself. I noticed that his letter of intent isn't dated. I am wondering if he should resubmit a dated letter of intent, or should we just wait for rfe? I know it is a little off topic, but I am just wondering if anyone would know the answer.

Wait to see if you get an RFE. You may not. A lot of times paperwork you send in later to try and add to your case never gets matched up with your file.

We hired an immigration attorney AFTER I gathered all the necessary paperworks. After getting his fee, he sat on our package and sent out only two months later, that is after I lost my cool and sent him a long, nasty email, threatening to sue him for non-performance. So, if you are confident, do it yourself, don't hire any of these sleeping lawyers. Too bad I didn't stumble upon this forum before we submitted our package.

The more time you spend on here the more that is reaffirmed. He sat on our paperwork for about a month. That's why its important for us to share this so others don't fall into that money pit. I went into it with rose colored glasses thinking all would be right....boy, was I wrong!

I am just thankful we've found this forum and can move forward with the information here!
