Well,

When CSC had their huge rush of files approved 25-30 a day, we found that if a file was approved with "310"...we then saw files within 15-30 numbers difference were then approved."297, then 328, then 300..." I believe the adjudicators get a pile of files within a time period of petitions...therefore they should have numbers somewhat close to each other...but this is all previous instances...TSC is whole different ball of wax....ClockWatch2.gif

Ok, so here's more info that might help people... I got my approval this morning, or noticed it (last check about 11:30pm last night) but the date of mailing is yesterday. My last numbers are 6175 and the 3 before and after me have not been approved or RFE so I think that they are just not in any sort of order at this point. My NOA1 was Dec 19, so the total was 176 days. I had a service request pending which had a response date of June 13th... so looks like I was right all along and our NOA2 was the response to our service request. Also contacted my congressional rep who called about 10 days ago, and again yesterday although she did not get through because the phones were apparently down? Really surprised no one else got approvals today, was really hoping for a happy day for a lot of us!! Still with you guys reading along, and starting to think about the next steps. Suerte, good luck!

That's really interesting... my NOA1 date is December 12th, so a week before yours, and yet my receipt number is more than 300 after yours... How is that possible? I thought that cases were assigned a number in the order they were received, but this sheds some light on one reason they are not being approved in order. Anyway, congrats again and thanks for all the info. Very helpful!

Everyone to check!! Just saw our approval!!!!! Finallllllyyyyyy

How exciting! Congratulations to you both! :)

Congrats.. can you update your timeline to say texas.. I also think we need to place a note under RFE like

No RFE but my case was transferred from VSC to Texas MAY 24th! This way we can help other VJ's know how many and in the future ...folks who might go through can look back on OUR JOURNEY.....

I hope I did the right thing..I followed what Dustin had with Vermont listed and then under RFE stated my case was transferred to TSC. :)

Just for further info my last 4 numbers are 4577 and my NOA2 was Dec 19th... No idea how these numbers work.

Im thinking that we should stop focusing on the numbers of our cases because they make no sense...i think there is no rhyme or reason with the USCIS. let's just hope for approvals for us all soon!!

I disagree, these numbers where used to determine how soon previous petitioners were granted approval. Why would you suggest a few people should stop their attempts to figure out how a system operates? This is a innocent way to pass the time and maybe gain some more knowledge. I don't see how people's curiosity is doing any harm here.

You do understand that the digits in your number do have some significance right?

first two digits are the YEAR not the month of the fiscal year... Government changes fiscal years in October. They began there 2008 fiscal year in October 2007. 2009 fiscaql year in October 2008... so and so forth. In addition there are quite few fewer 'working" days as well, with 52 weeks there are 104 weekend days and then I believe you need to add the 10+ federal holidays to that to arrive at the number (365 - 104 - 10?) = 250 ish days.

the last number is the sequence number of all the petitions they received that particular day.

My number doesn't seem to fit your equation my dear but I think I agree ther s not arm .. But you will agree no one has found any rhym or reason .... Why s it then someone from dec 17 has been approved .... And I file on dec 5 th ... I am not approved. I was told by my senator offic that they get them in batches so tat puts a wrench in it too ....

I agree... DEC5 here also and as we see they don't approve it this way. But also they get it in batches I still don't understand how they not approve it in order. hmmm

Yes,

This is the question that is asked every week. The answer is the pile of Dec 5th is still processing with adjudicators, while the adjudicator assigned to the pile with the Dec 17 file has been approved. There is no true way to process them one number at a time in sequence, You will never see 314, 315, 316, an so on...because some adjudicators have very large files to sort thru (too many skype chat papers, photos ect...) , while another file may need a RFE. Too many variables to allow a sequenced approval system.

The equation you mentioned is not actually mine, but USCIS's equation...I hope I was helpful in the explanation :)
