Hi there, I have just recently received an email update from USCIS, notifying me of my approval:

"On May 6, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

I have been reading many, many pages on forums and such; And it seems that I now have to get in contact with the NVC to get my case number. What I am unsure about is, if I have to wait for my actual NOA2 hardcopy to be posted to me before I contact NVC, or that I can go right ahead and contact NVC before said hardcopy?

Upon receiving my approval email from USCIS, I have gone out and requested a police check, and I am currently gathering the other required documents (Certified Marriage Certificate, Certified Birth Certificate ect.)

Let me know if I am on the right path guys, I'm going to go ahead an update my profile page one here now, so that ya'll can read our nice little story!

Hey There, congratulations!!

They have to actually send your file from the USCIS to the NVC so they will not have a case number for you just yet. It usually takes about 2 weeks or so... however I started calling at about a week wink.png

I am not sure why you requested a police check as the USC does not need one. This will be needed for the beneficiary. It sounds like you are on a good head start, gather everything you can now so when you get a case number... pay your fees and they get processed you can move quickly!

Best of luck on this next phase of your journey!

Hi MedRoni,

Thank you for your reply and kind words, I am actually the beneficiary in this case. I shall start calling after a week has passed :)

First of all congratulations, do you mind telling your PD, just roughly month. My PD is Aug, 2011. Dunno when they are going to approve my petition. I have replied to their Initial request of evidence, and now they are reviewing, can you tell how long are they going to take to decide it?

Hi again

I mean what was your priority date (PD)? That way I can guess when my petition is going to get a decision. I can't see your PD there, just date of approval of the perition.

Thanks in advance.

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

25 March 2011? Mine is 12/08/2011, should I expect a decision in 40-50 days as i replied request for initial evidence, they replied it is under review and will be given a decision in 60 days. Do they really decide in 60 days or take longer?
