Thanks for the information posted Mr. Durden. I will have to dig into it further.

Also, I got my letter to the ediro published in my local newspaper ...

Do you have data on what % of DACA applications are RFEs or denied?

We have not as of yet attempted to organize that data. We may, but we are unsure how the data would benefit I-129F filers.
DACA petitions are handled significantly differently than I-129F petitions. While I-129F filers can expect to wait several months to be processed, DACA petitions can be processed in a matter of weeks.
DACA qualified beneficiaries are technically in an illegal immigration status until approved, and as we understand DACA filers are given priority because of their current illegal status to prevent any issues for them.
In simple terms, DACA filers go to the front of the line ahead of those already in the legal immigration system.
The process itself of DACA petitions, their prioritization, and large volume is what causes I-129F delays. The final outcome of DACA petitions seems irrelevant.

Fantastic article. If only that could gain more publicity.

Keep in mind this data only covers what would be viewed as October filers.
Status Count Percent
------------------------------------ ----------- ---------------------
Post Decision Activity 940 52.48%
Request for Evidence 578 32.27%
Initial Review 187 10.44%
Decision 65 3.62%
Request for Evidence Response Review 17 0.94%
Acceptance 4 0.22%

Wow I was hoping they would be more completions in October. So with october at 50%, and still a significant portion of Aug/Sept and the few lingering July filers there is a lot more than I expected. Looks like at a rate of 50-60 approvals/RFE per day it will still take a while for them to get to early Nov filers. Well this sucks.. ranting33va.gif

Thanks for the data.

Thanks for the data.

Keep in mind that the average RFE for that period is 8 days old. It will be interesting to see how long it will take petitioners to respond to these RFEs and how long CSC will take to review those RFEs. The question is, if the volume of RFEs will result in a slowdown in processing of unviewed I129F petitions.

I have sent you a PM offering to help. I mention it here, only if you overlook the notification from your PMs.

Honestly it seems they have pulled people off to work on H2B visa. The timing has to be more than a coincidence, I started a thread on this a few days back.

I just hope they keep the few people they have working on it to keep knocking out RFE and working on some untouched petitions when they can, and then in a few weeks after the H2B premium processing is over they will be back to 200 some approvals a day.

I can not believe they have the capacity to approve 200 some petitions a day however in Dec, Jan and Feb they averaged under 500 FOR THE MONTH.

TylerDurden: do you plan on updating the daily counts? Maybe every few days or weekly?

Yes, we plan on updating the data as time progresses.

USCIS has the ability to process the entire backlog in a very short time if they wished.
Here is a list of a few days with peek file review activity.
It is shocking to see thousands of files with decision related activity processed in a single day when compared to the same activity for I-129F on the same day.

That is actually not an article, it's an OP-ED posted in the "Letter to the Editor" opinions page, so it's more like a blog, not a newspaper article, but still well spoken and articulated.

Fantastic article. If only that could gain more publicity.

We have decided to collect additional data.

Woo! Not sure what you're planning on collecting but the more the better. I for one would love to see the same date back to Mid July - Dec End monthly broken into Approved, RFE, and Inital Review. And then we can maybe get a better daily count of what they are doing from that.

Then we can see approx. how long it will take for them to get to the end of the year.

Thanks for all the data thus far!

Hello Brothers and Sisters
We have reviewed 385329 CSC petitions, dating from 09/27/2012 through 02/04/2013. This data is accurate as of 05/04/2013.
There have been 6253 I-129F petitions between those dates.
We have determined that the perceived slowdown at CSC is indeed accurate and the following data will support that fact.
We have determined that there is a clear line of activity focused on files filed prior to 11/01/2012. We will provide supporting data for this at a later date.
In the following data each date shows how many I-129F files were reviewed resulting in either a NOA2 approval, NOA2 Denial, or RFE. This ALL CSC I-129F petitions between 09/27/2012 and 02/04/2013 not just the ones present on this site.
We will present more data as we have the opportunity to review and discover patterns.
Date K-1 Files Reviewed
---------- -----------------
2012-11-01 2
2012-10-30 3
2012-10-26 2
2012-10-23 1
2012-10-18 1

This timeframe caught my eye in your data. How is it that 22 people here on VJ got their NOA2's in this timeframe, but you say only 9 cases were even looked at? I'll give you some amount of error with the VJ timeline data, but that's a big discrepancy.

NOA1 - 8/24/2012

NOA2 - 3/18/2013 Only took 207 days at CSC
