Just now, I got the following email from NVC, but here is the important part of it

______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________
The National Visa Center is waiting for an Immigrant Visa Application to be submitted for this case.
The Principal Applicant and any other Applicants who will be accompanying him or her to the United
States must now download and complete an Immigrant Visa Application; please visit the following
website for instructions:
http://immigrantvisas.state.gov (click on the link for "submit Visa application and civil documents")
Please submit the Immigrant Visa Application form(s) and required supporting documents for each
Applicant in one package to the National Visa Center; sending this information separately will delay
your visa.

I know this. I submitted the AOS package, and already paid the IV fee. I generated a coversheet with Hubby's name, barcode and his NVC number.

Hubby is in the process of gathering the important documents which we will assemble and send to NVC in the next week or so.

Why did NVC send this notice? Is the part of normal procedures?

I got the exact same email after they reviewed my AOS package and accepted it and was waiting on my DS-230.. This is actually good news for you they have reviewed and accepted your AOS package and is waiting for your DS-230 so the email is basically asking you to download, complete and submit your DS-230 so no worries. smile.png

I got the same thing. Sometimes you do things faster than they can process. It happened to me throughout my entire process. I had already emailed the AOS stuff and they emailed me a letter saying they were waiting for the AOS documents. Same thing I had already emailed them my Civil Documents and they emailed me that they were waiting for the Civil documents. Seems to me that the letters they email are automated and emailed regardless if they have the stuff for the next step. :-)

Started the IR-1/CR-1 Journey

9/11/12 - Sent I-130 Packet to LockBox via USPS

9/17/12 - Received Text and Email of USCIS Acceptance Confirmation

9/1712 - Received First NOA from local USCIS (Laguna Niguel) I-130 recceived and in process

9/21/12 - Received another NOA from local USCIS (Laguna Niguel) I-130 transfered to USCIS-NBC in Lee's Summit, MO...

2/7/13 - Received email/text that my I130 was approved.

2/14/13 - Received official NOA2 approval notice via mail.

3/21/13 - Called NVC to get Case Number. Case was input in the morning. They gave me my case number.

3/22/13 - Paid AOS and Beneficiary filled out DS-261 Choice of Address and Agent online.

3/27/13 - Emailed AOS (I-864EZ)

3/28/13 - Paid IV Bill Online and Beneficiary filled out DS-260 Online

4/9/13 - Emailed Civil Documents

Now waiting for interview date!!!

You do not need notarized photocopies and you are missing a few things in your list...

For the Beneficiary IV Package:

  1. - Bar coded cover sheet
  2. - (optional cover letter signed by beneficiary stating what is in the package.)
  3. - DS-230 part-1 signed and filled, part-2 filled only, NOT SIGNED.
  4. - Birth certificate + Photocopy
  5. - marriage certificate + Photocopy
  6. - photocopy of bio-data page of passport
  7. - any divorce decrees
  8. - any military records
  9. - Police certificate
  10. - 2 US sized passport photos

The fee will have been paid to generate the IV bar code cover sheet - do not include another cheque.

Dear NikiR,

I just had submitted my IV package containg all the documents i listed above, accepted and got interview date as well.

I had sent only 1 EACH NOTARISES COPY OF MARRIAGE CERTI, BIRTH CERTI. NO ANY ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS. You either have to submit Originals or Notarised, its not compulsary to send Originals.

Require docs varies case to case depending upon the Country. In india, we cant get PCC without having any proof like CHECKLIST LETTER FOR PCC in hand.

Actually you NEED to send the originals or certified copies (copies certified by the issuer.) But I do understand that some countries require the checklist for the PCC.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html

Perhaps your notarized copies were from the issuer? Meaning they were the certified copies?

Hullo - are you utilizing Electronic Processing at NVC? You can, you know, as it's optional for casefiles headed to Guangzhou. Shaves 2 to 5 months off of the waiting time after NVC finishes up with the casefile.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I'm at this step too, and just wanted to ask how you're sending the pictures? Are you supposed to put them in a plastic baggie? or just paper clip them to the cover page/ They're small, so just wanted to make sure they see them, etc. etc.

A plastic baggie would probably be the best way of keeping them together and with the forms. Make sure to write your full name, DOB, and NVC number on the backs
