I just got off the phone with the NVC and she now shows us a registered for EP! Finally! But she said that she does not yet see the package our lawyer emailed this morning, she said it will only show on her screen when they are reviewing it....I asked her how long that will take and she gave me the standard 20 days. I will call every day from now on! Thanks again for the help!

Grats! Glad it's finally showing up as an EP case. And hopefully it doesn't take too long for them to start reviewing the two packages. Good luck!

Haha, told you! :P Congrats! Hopefully you find out soon! :)

Just received this response from NVCResearch:

Please be advised that the National Visa Center (NVC) contacted U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) in regards to your approved petition. USCIS has informed us that your petition will be retained at the (SAN ANTONIO FIELD OFFICE - SNA). Please contact USCIS at 800-375-5283 or visit their web site at www.uscis.gov for additional information.

What does that mean???

Why would the local office retain my petition instead of send it to NVC? It's been almost 7 weeks since the approval.

The local office thinks that the casefile , the I-130, is to be used for an adjustment of status case in the USA and not consular visa processing abroad.

Whatcha put for location on Q22 of the I-130? If you put the name of a US Embassy or code for a US Embassy, then is quite possible the adjudicator f*cked it up for you. Best way to fix this is to engage with the Immigration Liason Staffer with a Congressmen's Office (you have 3 - one from US House of Representatives and two from the US Senate) and have them deal with it. Engaging is important, la.

For me, it took :

1. A Service request and

2. an infopass and

3. my ILS Human

all together to get that stupid casefile OUT of the Dallas Office. I forgot about Q22, but was pro-active before during and after the approval date. Apparently no one at the local office paid any attention to the before and during, even the 3 postal letters I sent in to that office were seemingly ignored.

The InfoPass I did, about it, to beg the @@#$ards to peg it to go to NVC prior to approval , seemingly failed as well, as the approval notice I got was all about 'adjustment of status' and NOT Consular Processing and NVC Doc Intake.

In the end, it was the ILS Human that got it rehomed to NVC, 31 days after the approval at the Dallas Office. Here's some of that pain and suffering. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/394282-filed-i-130-yesterday/page-7#entry6198274

You really should study your approval notice, if there's no mention of NVC at all, somethings wonky. Fixable, but wonky.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

On the other hand, my approval notice clearly said my case was sent to the NVC, and it still took almost two months, and it was still sent to the NRC instead of the NVC. Ugh.

I'm a dual US/Hungarian citizen (both by birth; Hungarian citizenship verification TBA), and my husband is a dual British/Irish citizen (by treaty) from Northern Ireland. We are atheists.

Sorry, Houston is a special case. They have extra-special, extra-stupid people there. Would the Houston office be better off with a total flush, test and rehire?? Absolutely !

I absolutely hate the Houston office. Who the #### sends off NVC casefiles to NRC? A sub-human with the the IQ of a moron or less, alas.

That's what I think happened too, Darnell.

On Q22 I put the city and country for consular post.

But, my mom was in the US at the time when I filed this, so on Q14 I put her arrival record. But, also, I included a separate letter again emphasizing she will continue with the consular processing. You would think that would be enough. But my guess is that someone marked for NRC because of that Q14.

However, BOTH my Approval Notice from the local office, and I-797 from USCIS say that the case is sent to NVC, so everything seemed clear.

Now I have a service request going (which I don't have much confidence in), and two ILS Humans involved.

I feel like fighting a battle and rallying my troops now. It shouldn't be this hard.

Still waiting on the AOS to be invoiced. Have you gotten yours yet?
