Hello all! I was wondering if anyone here can tell me anything and everything they know about the CR-1 Visa, such as what are all the required forms, what is an estimate of waiting, an estimate of prices, etc. I am 17 and not married but, it would help if I were told the information AS IF I were 17 and married because that may soon be the case and it would just help me out a lot. This may be a broad thing to discuss.. but please tell me anything you can! And FYI I know about the K-1 Visa and that is not a route we are willing to take at the moment.

Ok... This is a do it yourself site... So that means you have to some of it yourself!! Nobody here is going to spell out step by step in a thread when there are step by step guides stickied at the top of EVERY visa category on this site...

But, to get you started... We can do this one step at a time...

Step #1. READ THE GUIDES

I will give you another hint for step #2... (Rhymes with re-read the guides)...

After completing these steps, feel free to ask away at anything that you are unclear on,n you will find a wealth of knowledge and helpful people who know soooo much about visas that it fills PAGES (literally), but for fates sake, do some homework FIRST!

And best of luck on your hypothetical journey....

Girl, marriage isn't something you should be thinking about at 17. Pursue college or university.

Anyway, the GUIDES at the top of the page will help you. :star:

In the USA, an 18 year old is an adult. You must be an adult to marry unless you have parental consent.

I have consent and i can have family co sponsors.. just need to know forms to file & is age really an issue? hence i was told it isnt.

Just so you know, I have read through forms that apply to CR-1 Visas, and it's hard to obtain information when other people's situations are not similar to mine. And as for your steps, you can stick them where the sun doesn't shine. I have researched. But I thought I could come here to have some people enlighten me on some things. But apparently not.

I agree! To get what you want, ask what you're wanting to know. Otherwise you get a lot of extra that you apparently already know.

Reminds me of a poster...

My mom had it on the wall. LOL!!!

I'd love to get that poster too.

Oooo a newbie with attitude... Wont get you far here...but keep the fire sista! But if you want specific answers here, Then ask specific questions... Not i want to know anything and everything about cr1 visas...

Now pulling advice from whence it was stored away from the sun.... specifically to your age issue, I remember a few cases where it was a cultural norm for the country where the spouse is from to legally marry (I believe India was one of them) and you marry in the country where it is legal, the marriage will be recognized (along with proof of family consent which is embassy specific). However, might I suggest you visit the India sub-forum as they might have embassy specific info regarding this... But be specific in your question, might I suggest, 17 years old and want to marry and petition for cr1 ... I had other info, but can't seem to find it where it was tucked away in my nether-regions. Good luck...

Meant check the Ireland sub forum...

But seriously, if you intend to marry in your country (Ireland) you should know the legal age requirement there.

I KNOW the age requirements.. i didnt say i didnt?.. Also we're going to get married in the STATES.. (USA) wher ei live.. my fiance is IRISH.. age here is 16 with consent.. age there is 16 with consent..

IM wondering if wegot married.. legally we can technically file petitions to keep him here, correct? So technically by LAW age isnt an issue , cause if youre married then what says you havent a right to a GREENCARD?? O_o

what kind of help are you looking for? yes you can ask questions and get answers, but they have to be specific to the process. this is a self help site, so there is a lot of research you will have to do on your own.. even more with the age thingy..
