*** Moving from tourist visa to Bringing Family of LPRs forum *****

It takes about 2.5 years for a visa for a spouse of a greencard holder.

time to get spouse visa? usually, it's time to get spouse visa, after NVC Doc Intake is completed,

but before that happens, even to start, a Visa # must be available,

and

that is predicated by your priority date.

So, study the monthly priority date threads here, and ask your wife to check in with USCIS once a month to inquire about priority date movement

or

simply study the monthly VISA Bulletin, then make your own predictions.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

No one can tell you when you will get a visa.

Approval of the I-130 us only the first step. Your case now goes to the NVC where you and your petitioner will file the DS-230 and I-864. After the paperwork is completed, then the case goes to the US Embassy. Once your Priority Date becomes current, you will be scheduled for the interview. You may get your visa at that time or you could be placed in AP which could delay a visa for a few weeks or years.

Congratulations on your approval!

Read the first two posts in this thread to learn more about the NVC process:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/433472-nvc-filers-june-2013/page-1

Since you have a Feb 2012 PD, it's likely that you still have a few more months to go before a visa number will be available for you.

Good luck!

My F2A/IR-1 journey:

USCIS:
4 August 2011: I-130 sent (while husband permanent resident)

NVC:

7 May 2013: Case number received, DS-3032 sent

15 May 2013: AOS bill received and paid

16 May 2013: AOS package sent

17 May 2013: DS-3032 accepted

20 May 2013: IV bill received and paid

21 May 2013: IV package sent

11 June 2013: response to IV checklist sent

13 June 2013: Case upgraded to CR1

2 July 2013: Case completed

28 August 2013: Interview - approved!

21 September 2013: POE
